How much money, how many votes? : Iowa edition

Iowa isn't incredibly important, but looking at this chart; Jeb can't make it much longer, Rubio's bronze is even less impressive.

Rubio's bronze is even less impressive.

Won't be even less impressive when he gains the momentum and brings home the nomination. The amount of money he'll bring into his campaign after Iowa will probably be well worth that $8.35 million.

That's a whole lot of promises to someone for the $ it cost for those votes.

Jeb got one percentage point for each letter of his first name.

I agree. And he's been getting a flood of cash recently as it looks like some of the big Bush donors might be hitching to Rubio's wagon. It'll be money well spent if it secures the support (in votes and donations) going to some of the other candidates that can be expected to drop out soon.

The chart says a lot about Paul. Was he unable to secure enough $ to be competitive? He clearly wasn't saving any for later races since he dropped out today.

Considering the buzz he's created Rubio's money was very well spent. Bush is just burning cash.

The Onion headline is Bush Finally has the Momentum Necessary to End Campaign.

I am no political science guy, but the telling figure is Trump...it looks like even though he is a Billionaire, he isn't going all in on the campaign deal.

Or he's avoiding taking PAC $ and be indebted to an organization for the next four years.

Kind of unrelated, but so far I've seen 3 Rubio ads on TV the past 2 days, and 1 Bush. Yet to see any other candidate.

Stock market downturn probably shook him up.

Serious question.

Where do you guys see Rubio stopping the Trump surge?

I look at the upcoming states and they all go to Trump: New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada.

I can even see Trump winning most of Super Tuesday. Couple those with New York, and Trump may be too far ahead for Rubio to surpass Trump. JMO.

When does it stop and Rubio makes the run that is being foretold?

I think Trump has maxed out his percentages. I think a lot more people will jump on the Rubio train than the Trump one. Even though he might be leading, once these other guys drop Rubio will take their percentages and become more popular.
