January 28, 201610 yr Totally with you on that one. The '86 team was as dominant as the '85 Bears. I agree.
January 28, 201610 yr Why are the 2006 Colts so far down on the list and why are the 2005 Steelers in the upper third?
January 28, 201610 yr Author Defense was 4th in the league in points allowed and 6th in yards allowed...so you are smart if you didn't mention the defense being mediocre, because they weren't. Miami 84 didn't have Marshall Faulk either. Both teams played very conservatively in that SB. Then how did they drop three games and play close in the playoffs? Just don't see it at all.
January 28, 201610 yr Then how did they drop three games and play close in the playoffs? Just don't see it at all. Every team has it's warts. I'll stand by the #1 team on this list. One of those losses was in the last game of the season in a game that meant nothing. Of the 15 highest scoring teams in history, only 1 the 1999 Rams won the Superbowl. Of the 25 highest scoring teams in history only one gave up less points per game than did the Rams (15.1) the 1968 Cowboys (13.3) Looks like that D was a little better than anyone gives them credit for. January 28, 201610 yr Why are the 2006 Colts so far down on the list and why are the 2005 Steelers in the upper third? Because Rex Grossman earned the MVP for the Colts better than Peyton Manning did that day.
January 28, 201610 yr Any Dolphins fan will tell you that the '73 Dolphins were better than the undefeated ones the year before based on Playoffs. My father isn't a Dolphin fan, but he always said the same thing.

January 28, 201610 yr I don't like the Cowboys but to not crack the Top Ten? Really? :stop: the Bucs over either '92 or '93 Dallas is laughable. They had no offense, and that defense was good, but not as good as Dallas's offense. The offense had a Hall of Fame QB, RB, WR and an All Decade Center, not to mention numerous All-Pros on that line. Ridiculous. And the 99 Rams???? The one that won on a last second tackle at the 2? Was this a St. Louis based writer?
January 28, 201610 yr There's no explanation for the 86 Giants to be so low. They dominated in the regular season and playoffs. Heck, they ranked the 90 Giants ahead of them. The 86 team was much better imo. This makes no sense. That 86 team was stacked. Much of the 90 defense was younger and better on the 86 team.
