The pairings for the 2016 St. Elizabeth Healthcare/KHSAA Girls’ Sweet Sixteen® and the 2016 Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen® will be revealed on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. (ET) when the annual Draw Show is televised by The CW Lexington. The Sweet 16® Draw Show will also be streamed live online at KHSAA.tv and WKYT.com.

 

The 2016 St. Elizabeth Healthcare/KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16® will be held March 9-13 at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights, with the 2016 Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16® taking place March 16-20 at Rupp Arena in Lexington. Brackets with official pairings will be available on the KHSAA/Riherds.com Scoreboard and the KHSAA website on the basketball home page following the conclusion of the draw show.

 

Full-session ticket packages for the Boys’ and Girls’ Sweet 16® will be available for purchase by the general public starting Feb. 8th, at a cost of $124 for side/lower arena seats. For more information, visit KHSAA.org.

Those are definitely tough draws.

 

It may be as tough to win either the 7th or 11th as it is to win the Sweet 16. Or put another way, it could be a lot worse, your team could be in one of those regions.

Completely agree. I would just like to get a really really good draw once where 7 and 11 play and 12 and 5 play on the other side of the bracket. Heck, throw 6 and 9 playing each other on that side of the bracket too!

I disagree. If the favorites come out of each region I would take the 15th against the 16th as a favorite, push with the 14th, and a slight favorite against the 1st. Might be a tossup against the 3rd.

 

Proof in Magoffin County beating Morgan County and Magoffin not even having Isaac tonight. Magoffin is not even the best in the 15th either and Morgan is the best in the 16th IMO (who also lost to South Floyd)

I would argue that Magoffin is a little better at this point than you think. They have won 10 of 11 games, including wins over Johnson Central and Morgan County.

I highly doubt that the 15th region would beat Paducah Tilghman, Murray or McCracken County. I would probably take Perry Central over the 15th too. And I'm not sold on Morgan County winning the 16th, although they could. And that being said, I'd still take the 16th over the 15th. The 15th isn't beating Daviess County or Owensboro Catholic either.
