Kindle is really starting to take over. I'm probably about 60/40 in favor of "real book". I do most of my reading at night and it's so easy to sit in bed and read with a Kindle. I see myself shifting more and more towards the Kindle.

Real book. I can do paperback or hardbound, but I prefer paperback.

I'm the same way with paperbacks. The light weight is easier on my nose when I drop it on my face at the moment I fall asleep while I have it open above my head at night.

If I want to buy a book...I usually look for the I-book version first, and I read it on my I-pad. The biggest reasons are: 1) I can read in a dark room such as an airplane traveling overseas (when I do most of my reading) and all the lights are off; 2) I can adjust the font to whatever size is comfortable; and 3) it is easy to transport. After that, it is paperback mainly because of the weight issue, again due to travel weight.

One thing that will keep the physical book on top for me is the ability to keep it on a shelf and pick it up and skim it whenever I feel like. I tend to buy non-fiction books almost exclusively in physical form for this reason.

I wish the book industry would adopt a similar practice as the music industry re: vinyl records. If you buy a new record you get a download code for the album too. It would be nice if you bought a physical book and they let you have an electronic version as well.

I've always preferred having a physical book, but reading on the Kindle has grown on me quite a bit.

Never thought that I would get to this point, put the Kindle is taking over for me. I like to read at night without waking anyone. I hate paperbacks, so the smaller, lightweight Kindle is appealing over a hardback. Also love that my place is kept for me.

I prefer a hardback, but if the book is good enough (or required for a class :D) I'll read it in any format.

My favorite time to read would probably be 1. On long car [bus] rides and 1A. Laying in bed right before going to sleep.

Hardback or sometimes paperback if I can't find that print in hardback. On a winter afternoon with snow, not unlike this past week.
