May 19, 201610 yr The reunion show was fairly useless. Did they even ask Neal (and what a baby by the way) about his parting comments. Had I been Michelle i would have gone right over to him and let him see the check with her name on it. Truly shocked Aubrey didn't win but sometime the jury is all about bitter. I definitely see Neal taking a page out of the Spencer book and pleading the case for Aubrey during final jury so Michelle without a doubt booted the correct person. Julia and Cydney were locks to vote for Michelle as were Joe and Debbie for Aubrey. Nick, Scot and Jason just couldn't overcome their egos and testosterone and reward the woman who outplayed all of them. And 4 weeks ago it was Tai's game to lose but until brought up last night I never really thought about Tai having all those advantages and getting no benefit from any of them. His end game was useless and the fact that he got zero votes shows that.
May 19, 201610 yr I don't know if I'm thrilled with the concept for next season. I'll still watch every second of it, but the whole Millennial thing will probably become annoying to me. Because most Millennials, are annoying :lol2:
May 19, 201610 yr A few thoughts before I read everyone else's posts: Who was the two-toned Cousin It on the stage with Tai during the reunion show? Sia...Probably best known for this song
May 19, 201610 yr Because most Millennials, are annoying :lol2: Agreed. I hate that by age, I am associated with them lol.
May 19, 201610 yr Sia...Probably best known for this song Ohhhh...you mean the Jordan Smith song? Just kidding. Never heard of Sia before last night and only heard of that song once, when Jordan Smith sang it on The Voice.

She played a really good social game, and won competitions. Her strategic game wasn't as good, but she was definitely better than Aubry in those two areas.
May 19, 201610 yr Author Boy did I have that wrong. Looking at it Michelle played a decent game. Turned it on at the end. I think she inadvertently won when Cydney went home.

Her strategic game wasn't as good, but she was definitely better than Aubry in those two areas. I'm not saying she didn't deserve it, just that I really thought Aubrey would win it. Booting Neal was probably a million dollar decision on her part. I've been a huge proponent over the years of people who's social game has carried them to victory when others may have played a better strategic game. I think it's every bit as important. Again that's the beauty of Survivor, you have to play a role in booting the people that you are in turn going to have to convince to vote for you to win. I think the "Spencer Effect" played a role in the twist. I really believe that Tony loses that season had Spencer not pled his case to the jury. Neal tried to do a little of it as he left last night. I like this twist.
May 19, 201610 yr Julia said it best during Final Tribal, noting that Michele “just got to slide through without strategizing” for more than half the game, and was nothing more than a number in the votes. She didn't go to Tribal Council until day 22. It it seems that every season there is a player (usually female..not trying to be sexist..just factual) that slides to the final, and then jury members, bitter at the player(s) who ousted them, reward the person that is left. Every season I yell at the jury "get over it..you were outplayed!". Aubry played the best game..should have won. JMO

And part of the dynamic is bitter jury, like it or not. Again that's the beauty of Survivor. It's easy to sit and watch in the comforts of our living room and tell the jurors that they need to get over losing a million dollars and reward the person that may have cost them the million.
May 21, 201610 yr Finally finished up. First, whoa Neil, what a very nice person. Kinda showed true colors there. Second, I'm very surprised Aubry didn't win, but like Scott said, Michelle played a great finale. Overall I think this was a great season, and with a whole bunch of twists that worked very well for the show.

May 21, 201610 yr I watched the final again and after watching I am convinced that Michelle won because of her performance in the final tribal and the poor performance by Aubry. Aubry did not state her case well. She did not talk enough about how she was involved and influential in so many of the votes. She tried to point out again how Michelle was clueless even on the last vote that Aubry and Tai were voting Cydney. Aubry should have detailed all the moves and alliances and conversation and vote building she did every tribal. Michelle won a couple challenges at the end and made a good teary speech that won her the jury. Another thought as I watched. If I were a member of the jury, I would know before I went to the final tribal council who I was voting for. I would think through all the moves by the players and have my mind made up before any of the talk at final tribal. There would be very little chance that anything could be said at the final tribal that would change my vote. Yet I watch and it looks like almost all of the jury was still undecided as final tribal was happening. What are these people doing while they sit at the Ponderosa for days and weeks? Aren't they thinking about the game and who deserves their vote?

I feel like I'd know who I was voting for before that as well.
