There was an apparent lapse in the hours leading up to kickoff at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub and Patriots Radio Network, the NFL referees forgot the kicking balls and pressure gauges at the hotel before New England Patriots hosted the Kansas City Chiefs.

 

The officials, per Zolak, then required an escort to retrieve the items before the 4:35 p.m. ET matchup got underway.

I'm guessing a huge fine is coming for the Patriots. Can't wait to see how the NFL blames them for this.

The "integrity of the game" was on the line, and they forgot them in a hotel?! The Patriots could have cheated again. Poor Godell must have been crying.

Why are the balls at the hotel? Shouldn't all of that stuff be at the stadium and kept under lock and key? The refs should have to go to the balls; not the other way around. JMO
