Billy Hicks wins 900th game

Featured Replies

Congratulations to Coach Billy Hicks on his 900th win tonight.

Freudian slip on the title typo. I will correct it.

What did you have originally? Billy Chicks?

900 wins is impressive indeed. Are these all at the high school level? Just wondered how he ranks nationally. I couldn't find him listed among the all-time wins leaders in the NFHS database. There were several on there from Ky.

Like him or not, Billy Hicks is a great basketball coach.

Did Hicks vacate wins from early in his career?

Mentioned last year on a different post that I was fortunate to sit an entire game next to him when he was scouting an opponent. Found him to be a kind, conversant individual that was anything but arrogant and overbearing. Was very pleasantly surprised at how different he was from the aggressive profile one thinks they see from the stands. Great coach, good Christian man, and a quality leader of young men. Would be proud to have my 5 year old grandson grow to play for Coach Hicks.

Yes, 10 games from his 1st year of coaching. This 900 is the official KHSAA count.

The glare he gives the refs on the sidelines is priceless. Coach Hicks works the stripes better than most. I also love his attire when he breaks out the red blazer.
