January 15, 201610 yr My favorite one is one I just learned about last month: trypophobia. It's a fear of holes, specifically, irregular patterns of holes. Look that word up on a Google image search and try not to flip out. Scientists suggest that there may actually be a biological reason we're repulsed or even horrified by these patterns. They might suggest danger to a very basic part of the brain. I didn't know I had that, but after googling I do.
January 15, 201610 yr Aviophobia. But it's selective. Airplanes? No fear. Viewing deck of the Space Needle. Big Yes. Tall roller coasters. No. Bridges. Yes. Have any of you seen the Mission Impossible movie that's been on cable a lot lately. I think it's called Ghost Protocol. The scene where they cut the window out of that hotel room in Dubai about 100 stories up. I get sick to my stomach even watching that scene. Weird.
January 15, 201610 yr I have a fear of "Idiot ruthless inconsiderate drivers". I don't know what that would be called. :idunno: After having driven for over 30 years, and having had numerous near misses from dangerous drivers, I've now come to expect a jerk to to cut me off from out of nowhere, along with various other types of dangerous scenarios, and because I now expect and anticipate it to happen, I tend now to drive in a constant state of anxiety just wondering where the next idiot is going to come from. Of course it's good to drive aware of the possible dangers, but I've become a bit too gun shy so to speak that keeps me on edge, because whereas I once just viewed it as random incidences, I now see it as something that you can count on every time you take to the road. I don't know if there's more rude drivers on the road now than years ago, or if I'm just noticing it more now that I'm older. Is it just me, or does it appear that over the last 10 years there had been an increasing amount of drivers with attitudes that disregard the rules of the road, and replace them with the approach of "Whatever I can get away with"? Is it because there are more heroin addicts and meth heads on the road than before? I drive a lot in the inner city, so perhaps I simply just come more in contact with more unruly types with undisciplined upbringings (who are possibly on heroin or meth) that gives me the illusion that there are more idiots on the road now than in the past. I tend to think that I'm not seeing anything different than many of you have, but I gasp in angry disbelief every time I see people blatantly and selfishly do stuff on the road that literally could cost someone their lives. I try to tell myself to be more calm, and that my nervousness could actually cause me harm in the long run, but I've noticed myself sometimes flinching while passing through intersections just as an abused dog would flinch if someone were to try to pet them. I don't think it's yet gotten to the point that I need to hang up driving, but I have actually pondered seeing a professional about it to try to figure how I could back peddle a bit, and dial down on the anxiety, but I figure all they'll try to do is medicate me. You defiantly do not suffer from Geeallmypostsarereallylongphobia

January 15, 201610 yr Author Again, I'm sure you are quite the catch yourself. You too, Farrah. Never said I was an amazing catch. I am, however, so very grateful for everything I have been blessed with in my life up to, and including now. The Universe has blessed me in so many amazing ways and continues to do so. I am a very lucky man.
