This was an ugly game for both sides.

Boyle is scoring 56.2 points a game while giving up 47.1. Only one team has scored more than 60 points on Boyle and that was Clay Co. in which Boyle won.

I said in the summer that Boyle would be among, if not, the best defensive team in the region.

Boyle's on ball defense was outstanding tonight. Bryce Slone did an outstanding job defending Crutchfield. When Boyle 'brings it' defensively, baskets are very hard to come by for the opposition. Nice district win for the Rebels.

It is just so hard to get a shot off in the paint against Boyle, Elkins is everywhere.

The perimeter defense of Boyle County was outstanding tonight. Garrard County only shot 9 three pointers tonight and they normally shoot a lot more than that. They never got any good looks from deep and that seems to be the norm when Boyle brings it defensively. Strong perimeter defense along with Colton dominating the paint....if Boyle County could protect the ball and find any kind of consistency on offense they could be one of the strongest teams in the region and state.

Boyle has the tough stretch of schedule coming. We will learn a lot in next couple weeks.

Colton Elkins received an offer from D1 Western Carolina last night.
