Stephen has BIG shoes to fill. When you have 5 uncles, 3 cousins, & a father who all played the point/shooting guard up on the "hill", and each with HUGE success, that's a lot of pressure on the young man.

Kunkel and Fredrick are both shooting around 50% from 3.

 

All names on thread with 10+ 3pt shots and 40%+ shooting from the arc (Khsaa). Every team has a best defender they should put on good shooters.

Before anyone says I was trying to blow smoke when I posted "around 50%" I knew that CJ was 3/3 the night before and that they were not in the above stats. He's 19/39 which is 49%.

When you ask "is this one of the best classes the 9th has seen in x years?", do you measure that based solely on high school play during their 9th region tenures or measure it based on how many of them play in and excel in college?

Mainly high school. Too many kids that could play college ball choose not to for various reasons.

Agreed.

 

He plays with a poised maturity beyond his years.

 

Was completely impressed with him. He was the spark that got things rolling again for the Breds in the second half of the Finals.

The Cru's Berling twins will get their chance to shine over the next couple years.

Brennan Hall played very well last night. Ruthsatz couldn't handle him. However, I was also very impressed with the sophomores if Cov Cath. They will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

 

There are some other players that didn't play in the region tourney that are also very good. Ben Toebbe from Beechwood is going to be very dominant. Has high ceiling. 6'3" and is still gonna grow. Has guard skills and can play the post. Really needs to get stronger and gain confidence shooting the ball. He has a nice stroke.

 

LJ Miller was already mentioned, but he is very quick and has good basketball iq. He has a pretty good handle. Really needs to develop a shot. He will be a focus for defenses.

 

Ethan Haynes from Boone County has good size and athleticism. He can also shoot very well when he is confident. He is pretty long too.

Brennan Hall has impressed me repeatedly over the last year or so. Big fan of his game.

Hall clearly catapulted himself to the top of this class with his 2nd half performance the other night. He was smooth as silk and really rallied the Breds to victory.

 

If there was anything he could improve on I would say simply his quickness and explosiveness. I look at CVH and how he moves and explodes on his jumper and if Hall can develop that level of quickness he will dominate the next 2 seasons.

 

Shout out to Stephen Pangallo as well for coming in during that 1st half and playing stellar defense on Ruthsatz as well as handling the ball under duress. If he can develop offensive skills against Varsity competition he will also be a top player.
