RIVERRATT Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I wish coach Blackburn would recognize the other kids on the East team. Not just the Sharpe & Raikes kids, you have several others who contribute. They do the dirty work day in and day out. Farris 9.8pts 8rbs, Klefot 10.5pts 7.5rbs, Wilson 8.9 pts, Polson 8.0pts. 5.7 rbs, just to name a few. This team has the talent and energy to make a run deep into the state tournament if they share the ball. Have to look past individual stats and daddy ball to get there though. Could be down fall for this team. Keeping my fingers crossed though
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Bob Blackburn at Bullitt East, I believe.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Bob Blackburn at Bullitt East, I believe. Got ya. Welcome to the site @stangman45, please make sure that when you create a thread, or post into someone else's, that you are as thorough as you can be to stimulate conversation. Thanks.
RIVERRATT Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Sorry yes Bullitt East, great program good team. Not sure there is enough balls to go around though.
Wireman Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 When in doubt, pass to Sharpe and set a screen.
THE SHERIFF Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I'm not sure what you mean by "recognize the other kids". Could you elaborate?
Wireman Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) I know when I asked for some names of prevalent players to include in an article, I was told Sharpe, Rakes, Farris, Klefot and Wilson. Edited January 6, 2016 by Wireman
NKY Bandit Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Assuming someone not getting enough minutes or shots?
RIVERRATT Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 They play much better when they play as a team. When the point guard distributes the ball like a true point guard should they flow much better. Sometimes Daddy gets to wrapped upped in just one player and not the rest of the team. Coach everyone not just yours Coach...Its sad when the 2 spot & the 4 spot lead the team in assist.
First Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Which kid's dad coaches? Here is what the stats say: Sharpe 189 FG attempts at a 39% clip and 96 threes attempted at a 31% clip. That's 29% of the team's total shots and 42% of their threes. Rakes 101 FG at 44%; 39 threes at 44%. That's 16% of the team's total and 19% of the threes. Farris also takes 16% of the team's shots. Sharpe has also shot 41% of the team's free throws compared to about 10% for each of the other two.
MF Thatherton Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Players play, coaches coach, and the fans don't know anything but complaining to the officials!
mtn bball Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Ok I told myself I was going to stay out of this, but we all know that's not in my DNA. East is 11-2 with losses to Trinity by 3 which imo is #1 team in the state and Davis Utah by 4 which I understand to be 1 of the top teams in their state. If it's not broke don't fix it !!! I have not heard 1 of the boys complain about how they play. The next 2 weeks is an important time in the season with district games and the LIT so lets sit back and enjoy what time we have left watching our kids. As a gentlemen told me last year if you look for something to nit-pick a coach for you'll fine it with everyone in the game. These boys are closer to each other than any team I've ever watched and they will take care of each other. 1 TEAM 1 DREAM PS if I was coach there has been times Jared would have sit the bench until he had splinters in his butt but at the end of the night he's doing his role and that's what makes these boys winners.
HoopJunkie Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Everyone wants to play more, score more, etc. But watching this team interact with one another during games, there doesn't seem to be any chemistry issues. They're deep, they're talented. Maybe some other kids will get opportunities at some point, and hopefully take advantage. But they seem to support eachother. Coaching is always subjective. No 2 are alike.
