Holy Cross 70 Conner 54

Featured Replies

Final from Hebron. Holy Cross gets the hat trick on the night with Freshman and JV wins as well. The JV win came in triple overtime at the buzzer.

As for the varsity game, it was a nice balanced scoring night for the Indians and a nice road win against a good Conner team.

Holy Cross will welcome in the Holmes Bulldogs to the Finn Activity Center this Friday night in a big 35th district seed game.

HC Scoring-

Bezold 14

Schrand 13

Jakubowski 12

Scott 9

Barnes 9

Conner Scoring-

Scott 20 (love watching this kid play).

Garnett 14

Connley 12

Nice win by the Tribe, not surprised they won, just surprised by the margin of victory. Get to the Finn early Friday.

You are correct. Get there early. Friday's game and next Tuesday's Cov Cath should both be sell outs at the Finn Center.

Holy Cross Radio will be broadcasting both games.

I think this is only the second loss for Conner.

Another nice win for HC!!!

Doesn't Conner have one of their top scorers out with an injury?

Holy Cross with some nice balanced scoring. Nothing flashy, just taking care of business. My kind of team.

Hemmerich is the leading scorer about 17/per. He sprained his ankle badly about 2 weeks ago and has missed about 5 games.

Hemmerich and Scott both average 17 ppg.

Hemmerich did not play tonight.

A couple of more weeks for Spence.

I was at the game. HC came out strong and had very good game plans both offensively and defensively. The kid that made the difference for HC in the first half was #11 (guard) - fast, fearless, and explosive. Beat pressure and scored repeatedly at the rim.

The second half was sloppy all around - both teams played like it was a school night and they would rather get home to bed. HC made plays down the stretch and pulled away. I was really impressed with #22 from HC - big strong kid who really defended the basket. He had a few resounding blocks that set Conner back on their heels.

Conner actually pulled within 5 in the 4th quarter. Scott scored 20 but Conner needed 30 from him and fewer TOs. Without Hemmerich Conner is not equipped to overcome large deficits, and when they fell behind they really needed Scott to score more (because he really IS hard to guard and can score so easily). He started slow and might have lost some confidence, and HC played him tough.

HC was sloppy the second half but Conner couldn't make enough plays to take the game away from them.

A couple of more weeks for Spence.

Must be a bad sprain.
