1. I've been telling you guys about CJ since his frosh year. You could see the skill set then and you an see it now.

BTW the 28 were in only 21 minutes.

2. As I said previously, it took me one game to watch Taylor County to see enough. That team needs an attitude and effort adjustment .

Mack will tell you that he has no interest in any kid that can't play above the rim. Puts about 98% of the HS basketball players off his radar! Butler has built a solid div 1 program picking up the overlooked kids that could play the game below the rim!

Don't tell Myles Davis or Tu Holloway.

Goodin mailed it in today, unfortunate for those who wanted to see him play. I guess I get it with these D1 signed kids, he has nothing to gain and everything to lose going full bore in a meaningless game. Boldin at Holmes was the same way last year, killing time hanging out at 2 guard throwing up 3's and watching.

I really don't know what he'll do at X. He isn't a true point guard, but doesn't shoot the ball well enough to play the 2. He's a bull physically and can get to the basket at will. But he thinks he can shoot. He's never been a consistent shooter.

Goodin with 5 pts...seriously, a head scratcher indeed.

Knowing Q and his competitive nature, I'm going to guess the low scoring game had more to do with how Covcath defended him than him "mailing it in."

Q has proved on the AAU circuit and at camps against high level competition that he can play at the next level against anyone. Rather than bashing the kid, give Covcath credit for coming up with a defensive gameplan to make sure he didn't go off against them.

Chris Mack and X think he play at an elite level so that's all that really matters.

Watch the game against Caverna. Looked disinterested and had little effort.

Geez. And Taylor was the preseason #1....

That's CCH's largest margin of victory this year. They beat Bellevue by 40 and Taylor County by 46.

BGP's Preseason #2. Who knew?

I'm not surprised at all at the outcome. Sure 46 points will raise the eyebrows but I know what I saw when I watched CovCath play Wilmington. And their sophomores played pretty good in that game also. CCH gets after it on defense and forces the tempo while seemingly playing smooth and efficiently on offense. The machine is getting oiled as we speak. Be ready KY.

Nice turn around from a 25 point defeat to a 46 point win.

I remember watching Tu Holloway and Brandon Neel having a slam dunk contest at LaSalle when Brandon was a senior. Amazing what else those shooting guards can do! Don't want to insult you my friend but I don't think you have a clue about basketball!

Tu NEVER played above the rim at X.

Can't really put Tu on Mack as he was a Book recruit for Sean, but he did play pretty well from time to time. Dee Davis wasn't exactly "bouncy" though.

Mack does seem to like the ultra athletic combo guards as the lead guard if you track from backwards James to Sumner to the addition of Goodin. I like Q, but I have never thought of him as a natural PG. Looks like he'll get a while to learn it playing behind Ed for a few years...

Tu NEVER played above the rim at X.

Over/under dunk total for Tu? 10???

After this humiliating loss, I don't know how Taylor County stays in the top 20 in the BGP rankings. They are 5-5 with 4 losses to Ky schools. They have yet to beat a top 20 team, and the best team they have beat is Perry Co. Central at the beginning of the year. I would lay odds PCC would beat Taylor if they played right now.

If PCC would have had Tobler they would have lost that game too. He is the muscle for the Commodores.

Under

Mayer 14 and 10

Ruthsatz 8/ 3 assists

CCH shot 30/53 for the game

CCH had 7 steals and 5 blocked shots.

Goodin was 2/8.

Sloan 5/16

TC was 13/43 for the game.
