No touching sacred cows Trinity, St. Xavier

Featured Replies

By looking at the KHSAA map wouldn't this district layout look the best location wise.

PRP, Butler, Manual and St. Xavier

Male, Southern, Fern Creek and Bullit Central

Trinity, Seneca, Ballard and Eastern

I have argued this before, but why is it a good thing for the KHSAA to make a bunch of money?? Aren't they a non-profit organization?

You are kidding, aren't you? The money is used to run the KHSAA. Seems like a good use of the money to me. They could always raise the membership fees to all of the schools instead.

I like that layout, and the layout if you flip Male and PRP (better for pure location, less good for balanced districts.) I think the guy writing this article doesn't have a clue.

What conventional or unconventional wisdom says put X and T in the same district? What does this accomplish? Any and every tournament Ive drawn up, wheather it be pingpong, horseshoes or pool, I always try to split the teams such that the talent is approximately even. If not, then you have two of the top teams playing in the first or second round... thus providing teams 5 thru ten a chance to play in the semi finals...... Is this a quota system???

He was just quoting the article.

Or were you directing your question to Vaught?

Sorry for the confusion - Mr. Vaught.

All I can say to this column is whatever.

There's no way you can look at a map in 6-A and put St. X and Trinity in the same district when there are 13 schools in the Louisville-area in 6-A.

There are too many schools between Shelbyville Road and Poplar Level Road.

I am not kidding. I understand they need to pay for referees and salaries and such, but I haven't heard anyone talk about much more money these two new championship games is gonna bring to the KHSAA.

Money, money, money.

But this has nothing to do with $. Someone propose logical district pairings where T and X are in the same district. Good luck.

I am sure money played a big part in this.

You say money played a big part. OK then, if money had no part in it, how would YOU draw the district lines in Louisville.

But this has nothing to do with $. Someone propose logical district pairings where T and X are in the same district. Good luck.

I was being sarcastic. It is funny people actually believe we have that much (or any) power. T & X in the same district just doesn't make any sense.

the fact is this..........MOST of the time, X AND T are the best 2 teams in the state. Why would you put them in the same district? The 2 best teams should square off in the state title game........if you think that they aren't , then tell your coach to play your team up into 6a .......if you don't do it, SHUT UP........no one gave a crud when X and T were virtual nothings in the 50's and early 60's, no help came our way. We just got better.

High school football in Kentucky is going to be run by cry babies. What an insult to the game.
