Male lost last year 35-31 on a controversial pass interference call late in the game. X returns 2 starters from that team. Male returns 16 starters and adds Justin Green. Yes, I can see Male advancing not only from Saint X but into the fourth round and beyond. They possess shut down corners and only one receiver from X and Trinity have caught more than 10 passes on the varsity level. Admit that Male has better athletes and usually better talent wins. Male by 10

 

 

In the preseason, BGP, LSURock, and I all picked Male as the team to beat. Seldom do we agree on things but Male looks like the team to beat at the halfway point.

Does Trinity have a Tayshaun McBroom this year? Not being smart or sarcastic, just asking.

While I don't think that Trinity has 1 receiver as talented as Tayshawn I do think they have an overall better corps of receivers then they did in 2003. Both Duttons are speedsters, Stein has been very good, B. Petrino is as tough as a 2 dollar steak, Melillo is a tall target with good hands and Flynn rarely drops a ball. Add that to my belief that T's running game is better the the 03 teams (Phillips and Kirksey make a nasty 1-2 punch) and I like the way they line up against Males D.

I haven't seen Male play yet this year, but I plan on going to the Male/X game. On paper Male looks to be pretty darn tough. I think Redman wants to keep trying to fly under the radar as much as possible (though 59-0 over PRP may have made that an impossiblilty.)

Yeah, I know 133 is a big number with one in every sport.

 

I believe that LSURock, BGP, and myself were speaking about this year,2006, that Male seems to be the team to beat. Drew Riddle and Chris Redman have exhausted their elgibility. 9 different people scored for Male against PRP-Wow!!

^jimmyref...don't you have a kid at X? Do you not believe X can beat Male? I watched Male Friday night and X has just as good a chance to beat Male as other teams. Don't give up hope on your tigers yet.

I just think the Male team is the team to beat. LSURock had kids go through T and he agrees with me. Does that make him less of a T fan? I will pull for X but 59-0 is a statement.

I can believe that Male is the best team in the state and at the same time believe that the Rocks will defeat them if they meet in the third round. I just think that Male should be favored to defeat X at this time to get that far. Then again, a lot of things can happen from now til then.

Not that I'm an X supporter, but after watching Male play on Friday night, I think X will beat them in regular season. PRP should not even be ranked in the top 20 in 4A. X has the o-line and backs that can run with Male and Male's DB's can be beat with easy. Just because you might be a referee, don't let that yellow flag blind you....
