Obviously I was not? Had other things to do. Did not realize that questions were not allowed?

Questions are definitely allowed.... I thought you were implying he was not getting any playing time... rather than asking an actual question. You know, like the coaches are not using him as much as they should, or in the right way.

What a difference a year makes Ncc beats Holy Cross by 40 last year and Holy Cross beats Ncc by 5. Congrats to Holy Cross. Ncc will get better they are young and with Weyer they will compete for a 9th region crown.

Not totally surprising. NCC lost several impact players from last year? Over the last 2 years multiple college level athletes.

From the games/teams I have seen play this year the region is way way down from last year.

Great game.

Other game photos:

I think I saw 8 players played but HC only played 8 as well.

Playing to many players can be a disadvantage in tough games in my opinion unless your loaded.

Believe HC played 9...

5 starters plus Zimmerman, Hacker, Volpenheim, & N. Schrand

Glad I went - very exciting game!! Best one I've seen all year. Very impressed with HC's tenacity, aggressiveness, and spunk. Moved the ball very well, played tough, aggressive D. Was very impressed with, Schrand, Bezold, and Jakubowski.

Also impressed with Moeves and Weyer. Moeves was the star of the night for NCC.

Not impressed with NCC's offense. Outside of Weyer and Moeves, not a lot of other scoring options. Not sure why Weyer did not get the ball down low more. He/they seemed to be ok with him shooting threes, fade-away 10 footers etc. There was nobody on the court who could handle him inside.

So Weyer's 30 pts werent star worthy?

Im confused.....its okay to think Moeves was their star but add some reasoning because it appears Weyer was "The Guy" for NCC.

Moeves played very well for NCC. He let the game come to him and didn't force anything. Weyer is clearly one of the better players in the region. I just think he tries to do to much. Looked like he was forcing a lot of shots. Every time he caught the ball in the post he had 2-3 people collapsing on him. Those need to be kicked back out for uncontested shots, which will in return open up the post play for himself. Fun game to watch and congrats to HC. A totally different outcome than last years matchup.

Newcath lost a lot of talented players last year McDonald, Pangallo, Moeves and Freppon, that's about 70% of thier scoring maybe more. Holy Cross kids have been playing since they were freshmen and have a lot of experience. Newcath return Weyer and Anderson with experience. Weyer was a beast last night the kid was getting hammered almost everytime he touch the ball down low. Moeves shot the ball great last night if they can get some other kids to score this team is dangerous come district and Regional time. IMO there will be a rematch in the ALL A finals and will see which team gets better and which team stays the same. Congrats to Holy Cross on the win and for Newcath keep on getting better

Opinion. I personally wasn't expecting it. 6-7 from the field - almost perfect. All threes (I think). Seemed to come at crucial times. Wasn't a knock on Weyer - I expect him to have great nights - he's obviously their stud. Moeves was the "someone else that stepped up" - which NCC seems to need desperately.

From an "uneducated guy in the stands" perspective, and not taking who scored the most points into consideration, I was excited about Moeves' night.

And ..... I'm grateful that it's OK for me to "think it's OK to think Moeves was the star". Thank you for that!!

IMO

There was contact on both sides off the ball. Panda pics show predominantly straight up "D" on Weyer when he had the ball...check them out.

"Hammered/molested" comments seem a bit biased.

Weyer's a great player, but agree with above comment that some shots seemed forced.

Next meeting will definitely be exciting to watch!

No problem, as long as we are clear that you will need to provide an explanation for every post going forward we shouldnt have any problems. LOL

Seriously I was just curious what Moeves did in the game. You helped me understand that.

:thumb:

I'm expecting a big game out of Ludwig pretty soon. With Moeves hitting shots like he is and of course the big man Weyer underneath. Teams may tend to focus on those two and leave the sharpshooter open?

I love how Holy Cross is getting it done without any over hyped names on their roster. Keep it rolling, Indians!
