Netflix "Making a Murderer" Series

Featured Replies

Finished this series at 3AM this morning. Got wrapped up and couldn't stop. I yelled at the tv several times.

I can't see how that kid didn't get a new trial.

All trials glazed over the fact that the victim's body was in the back of her car. There was blood back there, yet the prosecution's narrative had Avery burning the body behind the house after he shot her. Additionally, no blood anywhere! He allegedly shot her 11 times in the garage, but there was zero blood splatter on all that junk.

I think his brother-in-law and possibly his older nephew had some involvement. They were each other's alibi and their timeline's matched no one's. The BIL was actually unaccounted for the 2 hours the murder allegedly occurred.

I thought her blood in the Rav 4 would have gotten more play by the defense. Maybe it did.

I hadn't given a lot of thought to the BIL and nephew and that's a good point about them. Now that I think about it, their participation in the trial was strange. It was obvious the nephew changed his story substantially to aid the prosecution to the point that the defense was nearly awarded a mistrial. Cui bono?

i just hate that the killer of that poor girl is still free, and that family has probably removed themselves enough to see these trials were make believe.

Stories like this eat at law enforcement integrity especially when good cops don't step in.

Sadly, with breadth of the conspiracy I found it hard to rule out some of the authorities in the death of the girl.

Even if Avery is stone cold guilty, the involvement of Lenk and Colborn in the investigation taints the whole thing. The prosecution effectively conceded the key was planted. If he was guilty and they were doing that stuff, then what were they doing if he was innocent?

I'm about 4 episodes in. This is pretty unbelievable.

Yeah now the Anonymous Hacker group is involved and pulling cell records for Lenk and Colburn.

The fact that the Ex-Boyfriend wasn't investigated is just ludicrous. He admitted to erasing voice messages on her phone. Classic stalker behavior, he was involved in some way.

I read some items that weren't shown on the series. They did flip me on whether he was guilty.

A. Steven is guilty of the murder.

B. Brendan is also guilty of the murder.

C. Kachinski needs to be disbarred.

D. Lenk should face jail time. Possibly Colburn and others.

I read some things too, but we're all circumstantial. One that the author said was strongest was the fact the bullets came from a gun Avery had over his bed. I thought that was a given.

What did you find?

Is Steven Avery Guilty? Evidence 'Making a Murderer' Didn't Present

Avery had placed several calls to AutoTrader specifically requesting the victim as the person to come out.

Avery met her once wearing only a towel around his waist.

He purchased leg irons and handcuffs 3 weeks prior to the death.

In Dassey’s illegally obtained statement, Dassey stated that he helped Avery moved the RAV4 into the junkyard and that Avery had lifted the hood and removed the battery cable. Even if you believe that the blood in Halbach’s car was planted by the cops (as I do), there was also non-blood DNA evidence on the hood latch. I don’t believe the police would plant — or know to plant — that evidence.

^I wish that author had included links and such to where they found this stuff. My skeptical mind was already turning with questions, but I couldn't get much further than the author's post.

I wonder how many hours the trial took, I'd like to watch the whole thing, if that's possible, and see what was left in or out of the documentary.

I bet it took several days.

All those extra facts are interesting, but none explain why there is zero blood evidence in his trailer or garage.

I'm only 6 episodes in though.

I skipped to the end of the thread. I've saw a lot of people talking about this. Is it ok for teenagers?

Yes.

Sweet. Oldest one is super into true crime and the gf loves docs.

Dude, you're in for a treat.

Regardless if Avery committed some type of harm to Halbich, the prosecution had numerous holes and grounds for considerable doubt. The jurors were clearly biased based on all the media attention. As far as Dassey is concerned, that was an appalling act of coercing a mentally handicapped 16 yr old boy to get a confession and use it against Avery. His case is the saddest of them all.

My issues are the following;

-No blood or DNA of deceased in house or garage

-Why would he leave the vehicle partially hidden when he has a crusher on site?

-Why did the Ex boyfriend of Halbach delete voice messages

-What about the brother-in law and Bobby Dassey? The 2 hunters who are now being implicated by Anonymous as suspicious.
