If your coach doesn't nominate them then coaches can't put them on the team.. Go back and look at the rosters from previous years-- only one year have they had any Trinity players on the team. You may want to ask your coach why he doesn't nominate

I was unaware it was up to the school's head coach to do that.

Nomination is pretty simple on the website. In the event any of the Shamrock players wanted to play, I'm confident Coach Beatty would have completed the on line nomination and pulled all the strings for his kids. But, if anyone is under the impression that Beatty is sitting around trying to fill out nominations for all his kids wanting to play in post season all star games, you are strongly mistaken.

 

Coach Beatty had 31 seniors this year and half of them could have played in the Best of Bluegrass or East/West Louisville all star game - or even the KY vs TN game.

 

This is just my personal opinion...but the kid/player HAS to step up and tell Coach Beatty "I would like to play - will you please nominate me" - I assure you the answer would be 100% YES.

 

The guy will do anything his kids want if they just ask. I speak from personal experience and appreciate everything he has done...especially for my own. Hard to ask a guy to devote 80 hours per week to school and coaching, put your kids in position to compete with teams from all over the region (and more times than not win the state championship) - and then fill out all star nominations for 30 seniors.

I think the coaches do, but some say no or elect not to play because of another sport. I was told they ask for nominations and the deadline for nominations is Oct.1. I think that is WAY too early.

The kids don't generally know the procedures in advance. It's the coaches job to present the opportunity to the players, let them know who he thinks is qualified, and ask who is interested. If it's too much work for Beatty, I'm sure Trinity can find someone in the program to take the responsibility off his hands.

I've got a feeling that this young man is going to be really good in college.

I think it's funny how folks on here come out and criticize player selections and coaches, but when that team wins by 3 scores, you don't hear a peep out of them.
