For the Old Timer Mayfield Fans

Would like to hear who you think are the best running backs that's ever played at Mayfield, maybe rank them 1 to 5.. I know they've had a lot of great ones over the years.. Just to name a few, but, certainly, I know I'm leaving some out, here's some choices to choose from:

1970's

1) Robert Mayfield

2) Danny Fisher

3) David Fisher

4) Leslie Dismukes

5) Greg Hawkins

6) Van Pittman

1980's

1) Marcus Moss

2) Jerome Owens

3) John Redd

4) Charles Parrott

5) David Hobbs

6) Steve Carman(Lovelace)

1990's

1) Gerald Lunsford

2) Mikey Bright

3) Terrel Starks

4) William Murrell

5) Danny Kirby

2000's to present

1) Derrick Parrott

2) Blake Rust

3) Tyrese Murrell

4) Jonathan Jackson

5) Trajon Bright

Tony Brown from the mid 80's definitely needs to be on that list. Another would be Chris Barnes from the early 90's.

The greatest part is the family legacy of names that you see. Seems as if there is always a Parrot or Bright playing. Trigg County was always a Grubbs.

I'd probably go with these as my Top 5, but, in no particular order: Will have to think about that for a bit..

Marcus Moss

Danny Fisher

Mikey Bright

William Murrell

Danny Kirby

Robert Mayfield.

How can you not go with a guy who the school is named after?

My Dad always says Marcus Moss, so I will go with him at #1.

#2 William Murrell

#3 Jonathan Jackson

#4 Gerald Lunsford

#5 Terrall Starks

I've been told Danny Fisher was a heck of a player also.

Not sure how you left Jon Redd out of that list. He did start for the Atlanta Falcons. And a Mizzou grad.

Can't really remember the 70's, so I will give my list from the 80's to present.

1. Marcus Moss

2. Jon Redd

3. Jonathon Jackson

4. Terrel Starks

5. William Murrell

its really hard to pick a 4 and 5.

He was a good runner, but he was DEMON at LB. He put the hurt on people.

You got that right. He has put many a players out of the game when he was playing LB.

Probably more skilled in LB's than RB's.

Tony Brown would come out of the backfield like a tiger coming out of his cage. He would look for someone to steamroll once he got beyond the line of scrimmage.

I love the dude, but that is what he was known for. He was actually a fullback. The breakaway speed wasnt there.
