December 3, 201510 yr Thanks, and same to you as well. Make sure you get good painkillers for the first couple of days after.
December 3, 201510 yr I know a couple of people who have gone through it. Both were tough guys, and both were said it was very rough at first. Don't be afraid to take your pain pills because you are going to need them for the rehab. Both guys came through with flying colors and are glad they did it. My 85 year old father was one of those tough guys. I was worried to death about him, but he did great. Don't let yourself slack with the rehab. Do everything your doctors and therapist tell you to do. Good luck and God bless!
December 8, 201510 yr Had surgery this morning. Damage was more extensive than thought. In addition to born spurs, had a complete RC tear, damaged cartilage and damage to the biceps tendon. No doubt caused by the stress of my massive biceps.:lol2: Good news, feel great after surgery... No sore throat etc. pain is tolerable due to good pharmacology and ice. I wouldn't want to handle anything sharp right now, ha. So, on to next phase soon. :thumb:
December 9, 201510 yr Author ^ glad to hear that you are doing good, I pray that all goes well in the recovery and PT. Did you have one of those ice machines? I'm planning on buying the one that's $160, but now I'm told I may be able to find a place to rent one from. How long does one need to use ice?

I'm planning on buying the one that's $160, but now I'm told I may be able to find a place to rent one from. How long does one need to use ice? Thanks so much. Had a good day considering. I am just using a bag'o ice. Not great since I have a big dressing which I don't plan on changing til tomorrow. Hopefully can sleep a bit through the ache...but could be a lot worse!
December 9, 201510 yr Just as advice...don't plan much for the second day. First night not possible to sleep much at least for me. Pain walking around is tolerable, but not possible to find a good sleep position.
December 11, 201510 yr Hope you are better each day, the third day out you usually feel some improvement with pain. Sending my prayers for your speedy recovery. Worst part is over. Your incisions look good, not too much swelling. I know you're glad for that. Glad to hear you're doing well.
December 11, 201510 yr Author Hope you are feeling better. My incisions are supposed to be a lot smaller though.
December 18, 201510 yr Hope you're doing well Doomer! Thanks!! My stitches were taken out Wednesday and all looks good. Still have to keep my elbow by my side. The pain is a little better every day, but sleeping not so great yet. However, that was the case before the surgery as well. I was thinking about yours coming up the 21st. If you need help, and you won't feel so well the first three days after, message me, or let me know now, and we will help out. Not that you'll be real hungry, but make sure you have some heat and serve food available so you don't have to put much effort into it. After day 4 things start getting better fast.
