I watched this guy as a kid, not Uncle Al.

 

I went to the Skipper Ryle show as a kid. I loved the live local programming that came out of Cincinnati in the 60's & early 70's.

I was lucky in that while I was a child of the '70s, I got to experience a lot of the old classics from decades prior via reruns, especially on Channel 19 and WCET and KET back in the day. We had a big rotor antenna on the roof and I could dial up stations in Cincy, Lexington, Dayton, Louisville and sometimes Indianapolis and Bloomington if the weather was clear. Some days I watched 3 straight hours of MASH.

I remember many of these shows. As a kid I was on The Uncle Al show. I loved Red Skelton. My mom was on the Paul Dixon show the morning JFK got shot. I set down with my grandmother and about five minutes after the show came on, the network broke away with the coverage. Watched it the rest of the morning. Sad day!

It is eleven o'clock in the tri state when the news came on.
