November 22, 201510 yr First half was a complete disaster for the Petrino/Grantham game plan. Couldn't tackle, couldn't cover, couldn't shed blocks on defense. Bolin was completely rotten at QB. Looked even worse than last week and was benched for Jackson. Completely changed it up at the break and the second half was a totally different game. Not enough to make the comeback happen though. Tough to get beat up like that.
November 22, 201510 yr Second half performance definitely better, especially after being down 35-17 at one point in the first half. Dang Cards – just can’t get down that much. Sweet TD run by Lamar. Pitt has a very nice team, Ollison was awesome. Sad the season is coming to an end soon. Go Cards!!

November 22, 201510 yr Author Who starts at QB next week? Jackson, I'd bet. Bolin stepped in after an injury and stayed because he played well enough to warrant it. If Jackson's healthy, he probably ought to play.
November 22, 201510 yr Unacceptable - I do t care about how they played the second half! Bobby didn't have the team ready. Offense still making to many false start penalties. Bobby play calling was awful on first down! They better win next week or I will place a for sale sign in his yard!
November 22, 201510 yr Defense was flat & unprepared in the 1st half. That is coaching. They also failed to execute when they had chances, which is on them, but I put more on Grantham for the 1st half hole they dug themselves. Biggest issue was not getting off the field on 3rd down. They had several chances to force a punt in the 1st half and could not do it. Made it seem even worse. Bolin was below average until the Pick 6. That was poor decision / communication with the WR. If your D can't stop anybody, you can't also have your offense putting up points for the opposition - particularly in the last possession of the half when, if you fail, they don't even get the ball back. Jackson is a highlight reel and was a great changeup. His physical skills are obvious when healthy. However, he takes too many huge negative yard plays. Add that to the usual penalties and he is too often in 2nd & 20 or 3rd & 30 positions. Staples is a monster. With a nice offseason together, Jackson and Staples could do great things in 2016. OL continues to be tragic. Running game was non-existant outside of Jackson. As for UK, I throw the kitchen sink at them. Bolin's pro-style offense for a series or 2. Jackson with the read-option for a series or 2. Bonnafon with the run/pass option from the RB position. If you can't whip anyone in the trenches (other than maybe Matt Elam), you need to do it with gimmicks. Count on the defense returning to form and Grantham cooking up some pressure for an inexperienced Barker and try to get a win in a hostile environment over a rival and improve your bowl slotting.
November 22, 201510 yr They flat out weren't ready to play in the 1st half, no excuse for that. I'm of the belief that Jackson was going to start next week regardless. They've sat him so he'd be completely healthy. Overall, he is the better option.
