Should KY - Tenn All Star Game be moved to December?

Featured Replies

I've read where some in Tennessee think so as it would allow for more exposure of the players before signing day and they would still be in football shape.

The East - West South Carolina Shrine Game is played in December and helped Rodney Paulk get his name out after a solid perfomance. Another benefit would be with more schools getting early entrants into college, it would allow more high schoolers to play. A draw back could be weather, but it's not like attendance is going to be affected much anyway.

What does everybody think?

By the same token how many of these players also play winter sports like wrestling and basketball? This is mid season, the way the game is played now it is at the very tail end of the baseball season. Not as much in the say of scheduling conflicts there.

Where in KY is there good weather in the winter?

Per Weather.com, the average December high for Middlesboro is 48 degrees. For Nashville, TN it is 49. Those don't seem too extreme.

Play it in UK's Nutter facility. I am sure you could 2,000 people in there with some temporary stands......I am way to sarcastic.

The Kentucky players and coaches converge on Lexington and practice for a week before the game ... no way that can be done without students missing class time. Plus, too many of these athletes are involved in other sports.

There may be no 100% ideal time for the game, but June is the best that can be done.

I agree...Kids should go to school for just that...GETTING an education, but most school districts have a 2 week break???? I guess I would be excited to have my kid in the KY/TN All-Star Game and would probably go to the game...But it would be a different Christmas from the other 16 or 17 others I would have have with him.

To be honest I'm not sure...If the game was to be televised and all of the kids invited didn't miss school...I'm still torn...Family means alot to me and Chirstmas time is that time most can be together...The College and Pro Ranks do enough during the holidays....I say let kids be kids for one more year!!!

I Vote for JUNE!!!

I agree, December is a no go. If TN refuses to play in June I look for the series to end.

Tennessee wasn't crying about the game being in June when they were dominating the series. This crying started building steam in the volunteer state the past 4-5 years when they started getting beat (minus this year of course). Play it in June or end the series.
