UKMustangFan Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 What a crazy game. I can't take this kind of crap. Going to give myself a heart attack. :lol2: Brady was unusually off for the better part of the game. I felt like the Edelman injury kinda rattled the offense a bit. Gronk made some great catches. Amendola is going to have to really step up, and he did in the 4th yesterday. Gost is probably going to wind up as the best K in NFL history. Guy is just money from anywhere. We talk about teams being banged up, but I'm not sure there's a team that has had to deal with more injuries than the Patriots have. 4 opening night O-lineman, starting RB, #1 WR, heart and soul of the defense. At some point this all has to catch up with them, right? Thought Eli was outstanding. Not sure what it is about the Patriots, but he just slings it and owns them. Coughlin, I thought, coached circles around Belichick up until the final 2 minutes. Not sure what the hell he was thinking leaving so much time on the clock. OBJ is a stud. Really fun to watch him and Butler going at it. Who know Josh Brown was as money as he's been this year? Thought the Giants should've utilized Vereen a bit more, but offensively they played it about as good as you can. Key mistakes late cost them. Collins has to hold on to that INT. All in all, one hell of a football game, and I'm really hoping to not see the Giants again. @halfback20's boys are the one team in the league that scare me as a Patriots fan. Have ever since 2007.
sumoroyal Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Giants knew Brady was on the other sideline but yet chose to throw it three times. Beckham has to pull that ball into his body instead of holding it out there for the DB to knock it away. Just run the ball and take as much time off the clock and kick the FG.
rockmom Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Is there really any QB you want to face less than Brady in the last minutes of the 4th Q, even if the Patriots are behind?
bugatti Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Is there really any QB you want to face less than Brady in the last minutes of the 4th Q, even if the Patriots are behind? Eli Manning Signed, New England Patriots
bugatti Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) That was the Giants' season in a microcosm. The Patriots nailed the FG and Brady got them in position, but that was more about what the Giants didn't do down the stretch, imo. Thought I was watching Asante Samuel drop the gift wrapped INT Manning threw to him in the '08 Superbowl. Edited November 16, 2015 by bugatti
Jumper_Dad Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Every team except for the Giants under Tom Coughlin play scared against the Patriots. Play calling is scared, players play like they have to be perfect and they play afraid to make a mistake instead of playing to make a play...the Giants don't play like that against the Patriots, they play to win they don't play, to not lose like so many other teams when they face the Patriots.

If Landon Collins didn't knock himself out the Giants are winners last night. That, and the NFL catch rules are stupid. OBJs touch down should be a touch down. They got the call right, but it's a stupid rule. As soon as he has possession in the end zone the play should be over imo. I think this will build confidence for the Giants. As for injuries... The Giants are without or lost in the game... Starting LT (Beatty) Starting LG (Pugh) Starting C (Richburg) Starting TE (Donnell) Starting WR (Cruz) Starting Corner (Amukamara) Starting MLB (Beason) Starting DT (Hankins) Starting OLB (Thomas) They were banged up too.
halfback20 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Eli Manning Signed, New England Patriots Best 4th quarter qb in the league. Brady got lucky last night that Landon Collins can't catch a simple ball.

Apparently a WR ran a wrong route on that play. Eli was ticked. The Giants find a new way to lose games this season all the time. They could easily be 8-1 or 7-2. I still think they will be there in the end for the playoffs, but they're making it harder on themselves.

The Giants have been in the best position to take advantage of the Cowboys' misfortunes but they haven't because of 4th quarter collapses. The Cowboys are still in it until one of the other three teams decide to win 2-3 in a row. Not sure if the Cowboys have enough to go 6-1 down the stretch.

The Giants had the Cowboys beat in week 1 but gave that one away too. If they were healthy I agree it would be their division to lose, but I don't thunk they'd be running away with it. The Giants got Washington, Miami, and the Jets coming up. They could...er...should...have a shot in all three of those.
bugatti Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Could be the Giants' springboard. I thought my Eagles had a great shot of winning 4 in a row, then they go and wet the bed against the Dolphins. I like their chances more with Sanchez. That is sad.
Randy Parker Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 That final drive by New England started off terribly & Brady should have been picked, but wasn't. You can't give a guy like him another chance, but they did & Brady made them pay. He's so cool and collected in those moments.
halfback20 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Victor Cruz coming back to help isn't happening. He's having season ending surgery on his calf. Knee last year, calf this year. Why the Giants didn't IR him earlier is beyond me.
