Thomas More in the playoffs

Featured Replies

TMC finds out who they play tonight at 6 pm it should be a home game.

Congratulations. I hope they have a nice run.

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – No. 9 Thomas More College will host No. 16 Washington & Lee University in an NCAA Division III First Round Playoff game on Saturday (November 21, 2015) at 12 noon at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

Washington & Lee won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. The Generals posted an undefeated (10-0) regular season for the first-time in program history. Washington & Lee is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA playoffs.

Thomas More College won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title outright and for the seventh time the Saints have won at-least a share of the conference title since joining the PAC in 2005. The Saints posted an undefeated regular season for the sixth in the program's 26-year history. Thomas More is making its seventh all-time appearance in the NCAA playoffs and first since the 2011 season.

Thomas More and Washington & Lee's only previous meeting on the gridiron was on 2010 when the Saints defeated the Generals 42-14 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

Sweet, know where I am going to be on Saturday!

Is there a line on these games?

And who is the favorite? By how much if you were guessing?

Follow them both a little, my guess is that TMC will be favored by 10, don't know if they post lines for these games.

I hope they win and keep up the momentum. Hardin-Simmons is traditionally very good. I don't know much about Johns Hopkins except that Brennan from Step Brothers smoke funny cigarettes with him and Sloan Kettering. A semi-final berth would be awesome.

Unfortunately for DIII football, the playoffs have about as much suspense as the 6A playoffs do. It will take a Herculean effort to get past Mt. Union. Surprisingly, Whitewater didn't win their conference.

Looking forward to a second round match up with Wabash if both the Saints and Lil Giants advance this week. Congrats to both teams on fantastic regular seasons and winning their conferences! :thumb:

The Media Talking Heads are saying this years St. Thomas team or one of UWs might be good enough to beat Mt. Union. The Purple Raiders sit a top the pyramid for now!

Here's the bracket:

Both UW-Whitewater and Mt. Union have been placed in the same side of the bracket so there will not be a Championship repeat of the two playing! ( they'd potentially meet in the semis )

Look for a very good game in the quarterfinals between UW-Oshkosh and UW Whitewater. Oshkosh won the regular season battle.

I plan on going.

There is no line of D3 games if you mean like a betting favorite like with D1 teams.

But here is a computer generated analysis / prediction from some D3 site:

11/21 Washington and Lee 23 Thomas More 45 94.8% that the Home team wins.

Thanks frank.

What is the make up of Thomas More's roster in terms of where the players come from? There are no athletic scholarships so I'd assume most of the players are local. Do they get a lot of players from Cincinnati? Here in Louisville I hear that Bellarmine is pretty seriously looking into starting a football team. The players from the local Catholic high schools could do a lt worse than earning a degree from Bellarmine. But football is expensive to operate.

Football is expensive to operate but it is offset by getting 100 more students at a small school that are paying some form of tuition.
