macdon Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Ground and pound v Air Raid. FS with 322 Total 310 rushing. Hoptown with 270 total 58 rushing. FS wins on a third down pass from the 15 and subsequent interception on Hoptown's first play in OT.
DragonFire Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Not surprised in the least. I commend Hoptown for their improvement and their perseverance in the face of such terrible adversity. That said, the veil was pulled back last week for me, and I knew the Tigers were very vulnerable - after merely suspecting it before. The future is bright for them, they probably put themselves ahead of schedule this year. Congrats to FS!
fastaslightin Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 FS seems to be growing up before our eyes. Most of the Damage was done by all underclassman.

Quickasacat Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Saul Brady was someone I got in on the ground floor with. Saw him at the middle school level and knew he was gonna do big things. He had a great game tonight! I'm not sure what his stats were, but he ran all over their defense. McKinney kid is a freshman and played a good game too.
krokinbullfrog Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 TD from 15 plus another completion puts them past 12 yards passing. Love to see a little more from the gun. Proud of a great bunch of young men. Hoptown is a first rate group.
FSfan Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Macdon, how many yards did Brady have tonight rushing and on kick returns? He was on fire tonight.
FSfan Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Good game with costly mistakes both ways. FS had one TD called back on a block in the back and failed to score on the drive. Hoptown dropped a sure TD pass after an FS defender bit on a great pump fake. FS had some bad penalties, would like to say the refs were bad but don't really know if they were bad calls or not. Seemed like Hoptown got away with some holding but it happens in every game. With that offense, Hoptown is never out of it till its over. 2 fumbles by FS led to Hoptown scores, 1 fumble by Hoptown led to an FS score and Hoptown fumbled on the FS 8 with the score at 21-21 midway through the 4th. Hoptown forced an FS punt with 30 seconds left, then they threw the ball from their own 20 with 20 seconds left, FS intercepted then completed one pass inside the 25 then threw it in the end zone. Hoptown intercepted with 2 seconds left then took a knee. In OT, FS was stuffed for a 6 yard loss then made a 1 yard gain. On 3rd and goal at the 15, QB Caudill rolled left and threw a perfect pass to Hunter Janes at the goal line for the TD. Then on Hoptown's first play in OT, they threw to the goal line in the middle of the field and Caudill made a beautiful diving interception to seal the game. Want to make special mention of Evan Figert. He is a senior WR, safety and kicker. Doesn't get to do much more than block on offense, has had a few good catches this year when he was thrown to. His kicking has improved greatly through his career, you can tell he has put in the reps. On defense he has really been laying the wood to people the last few weeks, and did so again several times tonight. He came out of the game late tonight with an injured shoulder that has been nagging him all year. I hope he will be able to play next week, but if not, I would like to thank that young man for his effort and his determination to improve and the fact that he left everything he had on that field tonight. He came back in during the OT and hit the extra point, after taking his arm out of the sling that he had been wearing on the sidelines. Gutty effort, much appreciated by this FS fan.
fastaslightin Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Saul Brady was someone I got in on the ground floor with. Saw him at the middle school level and knew he was gonna do big things. I did too dragon. He's special and will only get better. I watched him play a JV game last year and he almost beat SW himself. He had 5 TDS that game. I hope Macdon shares his stats. I would like to know how the young man did last night. Sounds like he had a great game.
macdon Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I'm checking myself now. Brady's all purpose yardage will be impressive. The kid has great field vision and sets up blockers instinctively. And, as Hoptown learned, he can scoot. Don't want to overlook McKinney's play from the fullback spot. Very effective. This sophomore is going to make a splash the next couple of years.
macdon Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Saul Brady, So., 16-116 rushing 2 TD, Return Yds 92 Carlos McKinney, Fr., 19-89 Yds
fastaslightin Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 A sophomore and a freshman. Future looks bright for FS.
