More of an observation than a judgment, but a point I don't recall reading. Among the initial transgressions that got this ball rolling is the former president neglecting to comment after the student government president was called a racial slur on campus.

 

Of course I'm not privy to any details, but when I was in college the SGA president sat in board meetings and had a vote as a student representation among other responsibilities. In this respect one could argue that he was more of a colleague of the president than probably most professors. From my perspective though, this inaction seems to shed more of a light on the former president than any racism that may have been occurring on campus.

Admittedly I haven't kept up much with everything outside of BGP but did the kid actually lie or just put out secondhand information without verification?

I've just seen more than a few posts questioning why the president would have reacted to any of the isolated events and whether one believes he should or should have not at least commented, this isn't any ordinary student regardless of his subsequent actions.

I say the phrase because it seems more and more that if the white man says it didn't happen then it didn't happen. Especially when it comes to racism or acts of racism.

So you don't think most of the posts that I read daily aren't divisional? Every time something racial happens you don't think the conversation is a divisional conversation? This week alone on two different occasions on two separate topics I've told people what can be said to black people to at least calm a situation or appease black people and both times I was told I was wrong. You don't think that's divisional. And both times it's been from people I thought were better than that. Nothing makes me feel better than white people telling me that I don't know how to talk or appease black people. It's obvious they don't either. You don't think that's divisional? I'm past divisional. I'm just being frank at this point.
