November 11, 201510 yr I kept hearing that Butler and some others did not feel "safe" at MU. I just read the links talking about all the things that happened that precipitated the president being ousted. So two idiots said racist things to students and one idiot made a swastika out of feces (on a campus with thousands of students). That's it?? Nobody hit, shot, stabbed, threw anything...and people are feeling unsafe?? How about living in any inner city in the US and see if they feel safer... Look, the President should have addressed the incidents but there is no way you can control the acts of at the most, three idiots who did the bad stuff. By the way, is the swastika a racist thing? I would think Jewish folks would be more upset than blacks at that...heck EVERYBODY should be offended by that. Also, I don't blame the President for trying to get out of the situation when the group of protestors blocked his car. That is a scary position to be put in as he has NO IDEA who these people are or what they might do. You would have thought a lot more happened to lead to the President being ousted than what actually did IMO. Pretty sure that the Butler fellow has been at Mizzou for 7-8 years, if what I read is correct. Seems like a LONG time to stay at an unsafe university. Malcontents like him become the "story", and overshadow the real issues and problems.
