After Seeing The First Rankings, Who Will Be There In The End?

Featured Replies

I have several thoughts on who will be there in the end after seeing the committee last night. Clemson is in as long as they beat FSU, but if they don't ND will take their place. Ohio State is in as long as they take care of business. After those 2 its completely up for grabs. I think one team outside of the top 10 will get in, just based on the chaos that is bound to occur in front of them. I look directly at Oklahoma. How they lost to Texas I have no idea. But they have an offense that is every bit as explosive as Baylor, OK State, and TCU, IMO, and they have the best defense of the 3. They play all three of those teams and I think they win all 3. So for the last spot, it has to be the SEC Champ. I have gone back and forth on the game this weekend and today I think its LSU. So that eliminates Bama. Then I think Ole Miss knocks off LSU. So SEC Champ is Ole Miss and Florida and I think Florida wins. Final Four: Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Florida. Who do you have?

You think Oklahoma has as explosive of an offense when Baylor is averaging 61 points a game? OU averages 46 points but that's not close to averaging 61 points a game.

My thinking is that Baylor gets in as long as this freshman can play ball at QB.

I'd bet almost anything that Florida doesn't make it.

Clemson, LSU/Alabama winner, Baylor/TCU winner, and Notre Dame.

I think all the B1G teams end up with losses and miss out.

1) Clemson - will beat Florida State and hammer both South Carolina and North Carolina (ACC Championship) to remain unbeaten.

2) TCU - will get the better of both Oklahoma State and Baylor in the coming weeks; wins over two unbeatens will propel them up the rankings.

3) Ohio State - will get the better of the whole state of Michigan and then hammer Iowa in the B1G title game.

4) Alabama - This last one is tricky. I think the SEC Champion will have enough solid wins to make it in. Gut tells me it will be Alabama. They'll beat LSU at home; LSU will then turn around and win at Ole Miss to put Bama into the SEC Championship game. Bama bests Florida and gets the last spot in the playoff.

Pac-12 is out in the cold.

Clemson, LSU/Alabama winner, Baylor/TCU winner, and Notre Dame.

The B1G is tough. That league's presence in the playoff is definitely dependent on an unbeaten champion.

Assuming that perhaps ND and the Pac 12 Champ are out of it, if the B1G has a one-loss champion and the Big XII has a one-loss champion, who do you think wins out for what might be the last playoff spot?

Not sure. I'd lean towards the B1G champ due to them having a title game, however I think the odds of a 1-loss champ from the Big XII is very slim. I expect one team (probably TCU) to make it through the season unscathed.

Wow real shocker coming from you...

:lol2: You don't know what you're talking about. I've been a fan of a B1G team since I was 10 years old. I simply don't see any of them going undefeated.

What makes you so sure? Obviously they will have to win the SEC Champ, but I think they for sure will be in the Champ game with 1 loss. They have already proven they can hang with LSU, they've beaten Ole Miss already, we just have to see how Bama and LSU compare this weekend. But the way I see it they have the best shot to win the SEC because they are the only one that we should have confidence in saying that they will be in the champ game. Can't say that for anyone else at the moment. What would really make things interesting is if Florida loses a game and makes the SEC Champ game and wins. That would make my day.

You're a fan of TTUN. They don't have a shot anymore. So the only two teams that realistically do from that conference are your biggest rivals. So of course you don't think one of them will go undefeated.

And I think Ohio State blows out the vastly overrated Spartans and then Michigan knocks off Ohio State. Maybe it's the homer in me, maybe not, but I really believe that's what's going to happen. We'll find out in 24 days.

Do you like more or less teams than Wireman? You guys are impossible to keep up with. Who are your teams?

He's not a UK fan, well sometimes he is. Too be honest I don't know who he supports.

If this scenario plays out, I think tOSU would still have the inside track to the Big 10 title game. I don't see the Buckeyes being eliminated unless they drop two games. Or, their loss has to come outside of UM or Michigan State, which I am not seeing.
