What #4 seeds can get the upset win?

Featured Replies

Franklin County has a MAJOR uphill battle and I don't see that upset happening. You have to play nearly flawless ball to win in Bulldog Stadium. John Hardin is a machine on that field. It took a miracle for mighty BG to win there a few years ago remember. Away from it though...

A 4 seed that is 7-3 in the strongest 4A district has a chance. Not saying they will, but I think they do have a chance. Don't let this game be close at halftime.

Give Rowan County a punchers chance against Scott. Rowan runs the wing T hard to defend if not familiar with that style. Rowan D is terrible and must play much much better to have a chance.

I really wonder if people outside of NKY realize how good Scott is. Have a lot of athletes and a good front 7 on defense. No shame in the loss they took last week. I really think they'll get to the regional championship game.

Have no idea really. Sounds like Ashland and Scott will be a good game (hopefully both win Friday first).

Scott is ranked #6 in 4A aren't they? Are you saying they should be ranked higher than that?

I think the ranking is fine. What I think though, is there is a less separation between Scott and the top few teams than many people believe. I've only seen Ashland, and from what I saw, physically, Scott matches up with them pretty well. That game, should it happen, comes down to Scott stopping Baker, which aint going to be easy.

I'm of the belief that 4a is a wide open class, and that almost any of the top 7 or 8 teams could win it all.

If someone manages the gargantuan task of upsetting South Warren, then yes. Otherwise......

I agree on this. I think Scott is a lot closer to beating Ashland and Central than they are losing to Rowan County. Not sure if many people agree. I honestly didn't pay any attention to the rankings.

I lean toward agreeing with this. This is probably the best Scott team ever. I just am not sure if they are good enough to get that top tier win. Matchups will be big for them. They might be able to pull off the upset against Ashland. Honestly, I would not be totally shocked if they upset Johnson Central. But both of those would definitely be upsets as I look at it right now. Scott just seems a little up and down against those types of tougher opponents. The Bourbon County score, for example, makes me wonder if they are quite good enough to beat the top 5 level teams.

If and its a big if the Bullitt Central line can give the QB anytime he can pick any defense apart. To this point, it hasn't happened yet. This kid has thrown for 2700 yards 21 TDs and 1 INT off the run all year. I'd like to see it happen but I highly doubt that OL can do anything with Creek up front. So I guess what I'm saying is no it's not gonna happen in 5a. Lol

I'm not sure if most would consider this an upset but I think Collins #3 handles Valley #2 pretty easily. Valley will be by far the easiest team on Collins schedule. It will be interesting to see a rematch between Shelby Co and Collins if they both advance.
