I've been beating the Pulaski County should be #1 in 5A drum and I've been beating the Pulaski County is way better than Southwestern drum along with the Pulaski County is better than people think drum. Yesterday was the first time I said I think they will win state and that was in reply to @thunder1 who is the one who said it first in this thread. My reply was "I think so too."

SW just doesn't have the fire power to hang with Pulaski in a high scoring game. Their best shot was to keep possessions down and try to control the clock, that didn't happen. SW has under performed all season IMO, I thought they would be much better this season. But it became clear the last few weeks and even more so last night that Pulaski is on an entirely different level right now from them.

Pulaski will win the east easily. The west is the crapshoot. BG has defeated Christian County 55-14. Owensboro beat Christian County 49-24. If you want to include Christian County then be my guest. It's also obvious that you have no clue about Graves County or Fern Creek and how good they have been playing so far this season. Owensboro beat Graves County 20-19 last night and Graves County shocked BG in the playoffs last season and lost to Pulaski County 14-7 in the state finals last season.

 

By all means though....add your teams.

Graves County ability to compete and sometimes defeat BG and Owensboro catches my attention whereas Christian County's inability to keep a running clock from being put on them by BG and Owensboro eliminates them from my thoughts. For whatever reason Graves County has had some success against BG and Owensboro. As a BG fan I'd much rather see Christian County than Graves County.

 

BG may be a favorite and I would pick them against Owensboro but that game can go either way. I can't call BG a favorite without calling Owensboro a favorite as well. I believe BG won 17-14 when they played Owensboro this season. That doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

 

As for Fern Creek they are the untested unknown. Football minds who have seen them play this year say they are the real deal. I can only go by what they say. I hope the football minds are wrong.

 

My bias means I'd love for a BG/Pulaski state final. I think Pulaski County would be the favorite but I also think BG would be the best team they have seen other than Scott County so that makes for an interesting game.

Despite PP's sandbagging no one in the west is going to challenge BG. Go ahead and write them down in ink.
