Also...make sure you check Groupon for travel deals. Their deals are always completely date-specific, and when they include airfare they are usually limited on which airports they fly out of, but my wife and I managed to come across a 5-day, 4-night all-inclusive trip to the Bahamas this past June, a direct flight out of of Cincinnati, and we paid $420 bucks a piece...TOTAL. We were a little nervous about the resort ahead of time only because paying $420 for flight, room, and unlimited food/drinks seems pretty unbelievable, but it was great. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least look into the their travel deals.

A friend of mine just took a trip with his wife to Punta Canta in the Dominican Republic. They had a great time at an all inclusive resort, he said they would definitely be going back. I think it was around 2k for the two of them. The only catch is that you will want to stay inside the resort once there. But he said the resort is the size of a small town.
Ive looked at those but can't pull the trigger. I'm not big on confinement. I wanna get out and explore

Then it's not for you lol. I'm the same way, I like to explore, especially if I'm in a different country. He did leave the resort his first day there to explore and said it was a mistake. The place he was at does seem really nice, but if you don't want to be confined to the resort I would look elsewhere.

The wife and I are going there in Feb also.

He loved it and from the pictures his wife showed me, it looks awesome. I plan on going next year.

I have been to Aruba and it was great also. It is considered one of, if not, the safest Caribbean Island. We rented a jeep and did some off road exploring.

San Diego is always nice but the water is cold year round. My sister lives in Scottsdale and loves it. A lot of great hiking just outside Scottsdale.

Vegas is cheap in winter especially midweek if stay away from New Years Eve and Superbowl.

Hedo in Negril!

Vegas would be fun....

I've been to Punta Cana. It was my least favorite part of the Caribbean we've visited. Beautiful place, not much to do outside of the resorts. If you're content with sipping drinks on the beach all day, the place is wonderful.

Aruba is beautiful, probably a little more than what you are wanting to spend though.

I can't recommend the Riviera Maya, Mexico enough. Specifically the Playa Del Carmen area. We've been 3 times and prefer it over Cancun. The beaches in Cancun are terrible. The Riviera Maya is a little more laid back. If you get the right flight, you can leave Lexington, Cincinnati or Columbus early in the AM and be on the beach by the early afternoon.

The RIU Palace Riviera Maya is a great resort. Just keep in mind with All Inclusive resorts, you get what you pay for.

I'll post some pics shortly.

Beautiful place.

Been really looking at San Diego.

What's Scottsdale have to offer?

Scottsdale offers great weather, great college town with nice bar action. Great scenery. You can hike. Drive up to Sedona for a great time. We rented a four-wheel Jeep and got back onto some really cool areas.

I'd go 101 times out of 100 before I'd go to Vegas.

Nice, wasn't thinking about Sedona. Been there a few times and really enjoy it.

I'm really not a big fan of Vegas. We may go one day but I think it's out for this trip.
