Cats Pause 12th Region rankings

It will be interesting to see whether or not Cam Jones will be eligible for West Jessamine after transferring from East. That was a messy breakup. If he's not, West keeps that No. 6 spot, but if he is eligible, I can see West push into the top four. Game changer.

If ruled ineligible now, he would be eligible before Christmas. He stopped playing for East after a handful of games last year. The penalty for a transfer without moving is sitting out one calendar year.

Agreed. I do think Jones will be eligible, but it may not be until some time in December (a year from when he last played at East).

Transfer Daniel Coldiron has been ruled eligible and able to play at Wayne County.

Given their style of play and the type of player that he is, how much does this help Wayne?

When you have a big kid with a basketball body, that by the way is very happy to play for this program, how could he not help any team. The main thing with young people is liking his teammates and being coachable. This young man seems to be spot on with both things. I trust Coach Woods getting the best out of any player.

Two very capable big guys in the paint. Wayne County was already expected to be at worst the #3 team in the 12th Region. They are easily #2 now. I think Gillispie is underrated. Now he has more help inside.

He's a big-bodied, traditional 5 man on a team that plays a very up-tempo style. It will be very interesting to see how how that plays out.

Standing at close to 6'8, his presence alone will be an asset to Wayne County. He is probably not use to the transition style Wayne runs but he is a coachable kid and he will have one of the best teachers to learn from in the state.
Yes.

Okay. Clearing it now.

Cleared.

Whoever beats Boyle will have to do it from the perimeter, Elkins will own the paint in the 12 region this year, even more so than last

I'm picking Mercer like most everyone else but you have to keep an eye on Wayne.

Agreed. It's Mercer's to lose, but Wayne is another program that just wins, and tradition means a lot.
