It seems like every year the sports media talk about how good San Diego is going to be. and how good Phillip Rivers is. Yet over the last five years they've gone 9-7, 8-8, 7-9, 9-7, and 9-7.

Do you guys think they're over rated, under achieving, or just not that good.

I personally go with over rated. The media acts like they're great, when in reality they're just an ok football team.

Historically over rated.

I guess I've missed all the media hype as I've never noticed them being pumped up by the media all that much. They're average, have been for years.

This. The o/u for San Diego was 8 games this season.

That statistic they put up about SD having 68 different O-linemen since 2011 was staggering.

Bad O-Line, bad defense.

Phillip Rivers is good and is the main reason they even got those records to be in the playoff talk at the end of each season. Without him they would be a bad football team. Put it this way if Rivers had been the Bengals qb the last four years I think the Bengals would have made serious runs in the playoffs. Now this year with Dalton playing like this, the Bengals may not even need a Rivers to do that.

I think they are just the team most thought they would be. Around .500 by the end of the year.
