To bank the credit of your post on one victory kind of describes the expectations don't you think? One big regular season victory a year does not make up for the lack of playoff success year in and year out. Yeah, you play the big 3 every year, great. Since you play them every year, why do you lose to them every year? Just can't seem to figure out what their doing as far as football goes huh? You beat Trinity once, congradulations! What did you do in the post season afterwards? Again, since '90, what have you done, as far as post season, in the Trophy case? And hears some clues; X runs the Veer, Male runs spread, Trinity runs Jet and Zone. And another thing, at the time you beat Trinity, who didn't? Seneca beat them also, don't hear them. You just happen to catch them at a down time, just like ya did us. When is the last time Manual has one district, region, or made it to state semi's? Anybody who has any clue, please inform me.

That year Trinity DID start off the season 0-4, ANYBODY have a clue how they ended the season? PLD must not! You say," who didn't beat them?" Evidently there were about 11 others that lost to them after Seneca beat them and made them 0-4. You also seem to be a football genius since you can state the obvious about what these teams run offensively. When are you going to get a head coaching job and show everybody how to beat these teams. You seem to possess a secret alot of people would love to be privy to.

Post your schedule and results for the past 2-3 years and let us compare.

Then maybe you have some basis for your bashing of a team that consistently plays the best in the state and does quite well. Will they ever get over the hump? Who knows but several years back those same teams were blowing Manual out on an annual basis. If there is ever another meeting between PLD and Manual (or any other "arrogant" Louisvlle school), the players and staff should direct their anger and efforts more to the field than the chanting profanities at the opponent in pregame. Good luck with the season in '06 and who knows, maybe we shall meet again (in a playoff game someday). We will definitely "try" to hold up our end of the deal by playing the Big 3 again. Tell us how we might help you work maybe just one of the Big 3 into your highly competitve schedule!

Further Note:

IF PLD played the Big III every year, I see 0-3.

By the way pldgreatno2, just explain to everyone how open enrollment works. You also seem possess all the great knowledge of this. Open enrollment means that every child has the opportuniy to attend the school of their choice. While this sounds like a bad thing, it actually offers alot more opportunity to kids throughout the county. As this may sound like a good opportunity to corrale kids to build powerhouse teams, it is quite the contrary.

You will not see the test scores at Manual drop due to getting an athlete into school, the administration gains too much federal money by maintaing and actually improving test scores every year. So in between labs and science fairs Manual football will attempt to get these kids on the football field to devise ways to beat everyone ALL the time. We may be the smallest, weakest, slowest football team in the world but these kids are smart enough to find ways (conventional and unconventional) to pull out an occasional win every year or so. Seriously, the posturing and positioning for gaining a kids interst in your school is helped by a competitive sports program. Alot of schools offer competitive teams, some are higher profile than others but there are only so many to go around and we all lose kids we would all love to have. There are many playing for lower profile schools such as the McDermottt kid from Holy Cross last year, he could have been a major player for any 4A school as is the case with Justin Collins at Western HS and Corey Goodson at Western the previous year. There are many more and I am stating this because I can hear the claim already that the rich (Male/Manual/St.X/Trinity) get richer and the poor get poorer. There are 20+ schools in Jefferson county playing football and these kids spread out all over the place. It is not open season to go plucking these kids up and automatically adding them to your roster. This actually allows some of the smaller schools opportunities to attract some players that do not want to be a small fish in a big pond. Not everyone can endure the struggle to make it through 120+ incoming freshmen at the big private schools or the 35-50 incoming freshmen at some of the big public schools.

If it's not an opportunity to build powerhouse teams, why is it that only 3 exist? You must not know alot about Lex., because PLD's district does not produce, nor is capable of producing the best talent. Tates Creek and Bryan Station get the majority of really good kids coming out of the peewee ranks. HC and Lafayette get a few too. Not saying we don't get any, but they get alot more. If TC ever switched Offenses, Everyone would be in trouble in 4A.

They beat that team head to head for one.

What about the whole season? the 2-3 years?

What about the whole season? the 2-3 years?
They beat Trinity (the team that later won the state championship) during that time period and were ranked in the top ten most weeks of those years, and much of that in the top 5, the playoffs are not seeded to even out the brackets, it means almost next to nothing to me how far a team goes in the playoffs when they are playing weak competition, until they play and beat a top 5 team it just means that they are good enough to beat other none or lesser ranked teams. Manual PRP and Butler have all had really good teams in the past that would most likely have beaten PLD if they had played them in the playoffs, but they had to play Male and St.X in the second round and were defeated. PLD would have met the same fate if they were in this district, in my opinion. So all that is pie in the sky and all we have left is the head to head results where PLD was smacked around like a rag doll on the field and then ducked Male in the next time they were supposed to play a R2D4 team. Not to say that PLD doesn't have a good team, they do, and have had great success but you can't say that they are better than Manual based on playoff runs in my opinion.
If TC ever switched Offenses, Everyone would be in trouble in 4A.

Maybe you should suggest a change on defense as well, because I think the last time the Rocks played TC it was 50-zip. You keep throwing this stuff out there and we will continue to knock it out of the park.

Was '02 the year that you guys had the good quarterback who went to Wake Forest to play baseball? Your '03 team was much better than the '02 team.

I'm sure Manual would at least equal that record if they had Dunbar's playoff draw year after year. Manual may not have the most sparkling playoff record as of late, but they don't back down from the tough competition (a-hem), and they have beaten some pretty good teams in the last five years (state runner-up Male in 2001 and state champ Trinity in 2003). What would you say is Dunbar's most impressive win in the past five years?

Once again I will say, post your schedule and the teams you played to get that very impressive playoff record. By the way, going into that game versus PLD in 2004 there was much talk about how Manual would have their rears handed to them. Did you not have a returning stud running back that year? What were the stats and results of that game? That must have been a very heartbreaking loss for you pldgreatno2 to be spouting so much hatred at Manual. Maybe you too were one on the field chanting during pregame in confident anticipation of beating the hated team from Louisville. Overall this is ridiculous banter because you keep coming back with less than impressive answers and stats that do not mean diddly and after being shot down as many times as Snoopy you might just run off and play with another thread.

Well I guess RP has identified why PLD hasn't been willing to post the actual record. Doesn't look too good upon closer inspection.

I think its also funny that PLD chose to reference the decision to kick a field goal instead of going for it and scoring a TD with 4th and 1 in the 03' game with the Rocks back in post #43. As you can clearly see, Dunbar lost by 12 points. I guess he was banking on that 7 point conversion.

Playoff success. Bottom line.

We lost by 12, that is correct. We were down 5pts. and on 4th and 1, attempted a field goal for whatever reason. We missed. Then on T's next drive, on third down, Brohm found Orndorff wide open on our sideline for a very long touchdown pass. The corner that was covering him slippeand fell. 7 pt. conversion, sure.
