Playoff success. Bottom line.

Are you serious....please (in your mind) flip flop yourselves and Manual, and you are less likely to even make the playoffs. Get over your mundane successes over under achieving teams.

Wow! That's like saying flip-flop Jefferson Co. or X and T's rules for enrollment with ours, or what our rules are for what we do with our money with yours. You can say what you want at any time you want, but the following still remains. Private schools can select who comes in of out of their school. Whether it's for academics or not. Private all boys schools aren't really affected by title 9. Lexington does not have open enrollment. You do have some advantages so don't talk about switching places. We have what is called a school district. Since you have no clue what it means, think of T and X not being able to get kids from all parts of Lou., and the surrounding counties (all directions, think about it) to play sports at their school. Would T or X be the same if we switched places? That really holds no Water, Sand, etc. That was a far worse post than any i have ever posted. WOW!

^ it costs way more to go to our school than yours, even if you were lucky enough to receive the 50% (CAP) of financial aide. I do believe that I need to re-find my ignore button. I am done. You have shown zero credibility to any of our inquisitions as to why you think that PLD is better than Manual, and the obvious is that you are letting your emotions blind you. Keep being satisfied with semi-final appearances (which now will MAYBE be finals appearances), and Manual will keep on fighting ALL of the Big III to heopfully achieve true greatness (which, IMO, they are closer to then PLD).

Playoff success. Bottom line.

We lost by 12, that is correct. We were down 5pts. and on 4th and 1, attempted a field goal for whatever reason. We missed. Then on T's next drive, on third down, Brohm found Orndorff wide open on our sideline for a very long touchdown pass. The corner that was covering him slippeand fell. 7 pt. conversion, sure.

You lost by twelve, correct? So if (big if) you scored a TD when you didn't score the field goal you would have still lost, correct? So whats your point? Bottom line.

I was at that game, as well as all three Manual games. Manual was far better these past three years than you guys were back in the early 2000s in my opinion. Sorry.

In addition you guys actually played Manual and they defeated you quite easily. You have no case. Bottom line.

By the way pldgreatno2, just explain to everyone how open enrollment works. You also seem possess all the great knowledge of this. Open enrollment means that every child has the opportuniy to attend the school of their choice. While this sounds like a bad thing, it actually offers alot more opportunity to kids throughout the county. As this may sound like a good opportunity to corrale kids to build powerhouse teams, it is quite the contrary.

You will not see the test scores at Manual drop due to getting an athlete into school, the administration gains too much federal money by maintaing and actually improving test scores every year. So in between labs and science fairs Manual football will attempt to get these kids on the football field to devise ways to beat everyone ALL the time. We may be the smallest, weakest, slowest football team in the world but these kids are smart enough to find ways (conventional and unconventional) to pull out an occasional win every year or so. Seriously, the posturing and positioning for gaining a kids interst in your school is helped by a competitive sports program. Alot of schools offer competitive teams, some are higher profile than others but there are only so many to go around and we all lose kids we would all love to have. There are many playing for lower profile schools such as the McDermottt kid from Holy Cross last year, he could have been a major player for any 4A school as is the case with Justin Collins at Western HS and Corey Goodson at Western the previous year. There are many more and I am stating this because I can hear the claim already that the rich (Male/Manual/St.X/Trinity) get richer and the poor get poorer. There are 20+ schools in Jefferson county playing football and these kids spread out all over the place. It is not open season to go plucking these kids up and automatically adding them to your roster. This actually allows some of the smaller schools opportunities to attract some players that do not want to be a small fish in a big pond. Not everyone can endure the struggle to make it through 120+ incoming freshmen at the big private schools or the 35-50 incoming freshmen at some of the big public schools.

I think it should be noted for the record that Open Enrollment is only available until the racial quota has been met. Doesnt quite make sense that its called open enrollment but then it's closed enrollment once the required percentages have been met. Then you have to find somewhere else to go. Hows that make sense?

That is quite true but we all know that if a child/parent want to attend that school badly enough, they can get around the "quota". They just have to find the right lawyer.:D

It does have it's advantages, whether people want to admit it or not. And so does getting players from outside your area. Anyways, I think male will win the district, but will lose to X in the playoffs.
