Mayfield would love to play Danville in the finals...I hope they get there.

Someone from the east has to get there by rule. But it is likely that the 5 or 6 best teams in 2A reside in the west.

 

And after those 5 or 6 teams from the west beat up on each other in the playoffs only one of them gets to play in Bowling Green.:thumb:

I believe Danville is a little better than you think

 

 

I think they're good. Maybe the best in the east. I do think however, that the east is the weakest that it has been since the realignment in 2011. Danville has wins over a trio of 2-5 teams in LaRue County, Green County and Rockcastle County (and 3 of their 6 total wins came against Russell County who is one of the worst teams in the state), a vastly overrated Corbin team whose best win is over a bad Whitley County team, 1A Campbellsville who was missing their starting quarterback, running back Kendon Young and others and a mediocre Somerset team who hasn't beaten anyone all year. Color me less than impressed with that resume. I just don't see them as a serious threat to beat whoever comes out of the west and I'm not sure on them going to Northern Kentucky and getting a win in the semis.

A Corbin team who lost by 14 points to Mayfield. If Danville wasn't blowing these teams out I'd agree with you. I don't think anyone is going to want to see Danville in November. And next season they should be better.

I believe so, Danville has owned Mayfield in past title games no disrespect to Mayfield just speaking the truth.

One thing to note on Cambellsville game is that the Tigers had five yards against starters. Tough to tell how good Danville really is due to playing only till half time. Somerset should have been worse but refs keep it close. Game was never in doubt.

You make a great argument. It is just like the one I made vs Somerset prior to the game but some Jumper fans didn't agree about that evaluation.

 

Moral of the story is we will just have to see.
