I will be at most of the games that will be played her at NKU. I'm working a Knothole Baseball game on Saturday morning and then going over to Albright and Regents to either catch some of the games or work them.

 

Coach Bezold told me yesterday that there was a team that was a late drop and that Coach Listerman is in the process of redoing some of the schedules. As soon as that's done I should be able to get the schedules and will post what I can if I get some free time.

Silver Grove played Turpin and Moeller last night. Turpin won 45-42 in the first game and Moeller won 47-33 in the second game. The Big Trains play Boone and Holmes at Holmes on Saturday at 10am.

Scott High School played Dixie tonight at Scott. Scott won the first half by 8 points, Dixie won the second half by 1 point and Scott won the third half by 1 point.

 

Both teams did have all their starters.

 

Both teams played a little sloppy tonight. Neither team is very big(except for Mace for Dixie) and will rely heavily on guard play and outside shooting.

Is Austin Robinson playing for Russell? Last year I believe he was playing for a Huntington team. Best of luck to this young man. I know he loves his basketball.

Austin actually sat out all of last year , he looked very good at Lewis County

Camp and was a major factor in Russell's 6-0 run

He is a basketball junkie who will do nothing but get better as he gets used to playing in actual competition again

I expect Holmes and CovCath to be very close this year, with the rest of the teams pretty far behind. CCH beat Doss without Todd or Bovard, while Holmes only lost by single digits to Doss without Duran, Henderson, or Rice for most of the game.

 

BTW why was Duran not playing? Injury?

 

Covcath will be able to play with anyone as long as Tj and Bo are in there. Too good of shooters and defenders to not keep games close w/ their playmakins ability but Holmes will still be the favorite imo. Too many weapons and experience back.

 

As for Duran he has been having problems with his knee...not serious but as bigstud said he is gonna have it scoped so he's good to go come football and basketball season

What guys are playing for Holmes this summer?

Not very close to the program, but it seems to me that if Rice is back, the coach is sending a very questionable message to the rest of the team and the school. Also, is his eligibility affected by his participation at the Ohio school, or did he not actually play there?

 

Rice had no participation at all w/ Taft in Ohio and was enrolled in the covington alternative at the end of the year, so will be eligible

All of the underclassmen are back from last year. Starters are normally Rice, Jefferson, Hill, Edmondson, and Henderson but Rice isn't playing that much due to just coming back. Jefferson is rotating back and forth between football and basketball and is about to have his knee scoped if im not mistaken so he may miss a few games and henderson is out w/ a hurt ankle i believe but i could be wrong...i havent spoken with anyone recently due to being out of town for business trips and vacation w/ MRS. fballstud

Not sure..probably just a coaches decision. Arrez has been bothered with an ankle injury all summer and duran has had trouble with his knee so thats why they may have been sitting.
