Jamarrious (sp) Sykes is a project. He is a 7 foot sophomore-to-be whose growth in height left his coordination undeveloped. He will really have to dedicate himself to improve.

If possible, would like to hear some of the player names in games who performed well. Who did well for Jtown, Madison Central, Louisville Central, Manual, and Johnson Central in those games listed?

Jacob Jenkins played well for Manual in a win over Central. There were earlier rumors that he might be transferring to Central. Central is very talented but young.

Darius Miller had a dunk against Madison Central when he just drove the lane and dunked on Aaron Morris and #50. He has played good all summer except one game really. Mason Co. hasn't lost yet.

Should make the deal in Frankfort very interesting with Mason in there with the likes of J-town, Lex. Catholic, Holmes, Henry Clay, Central, PRP, Central, Lafayette, Tates Creek among others.

You can add Georgetown,Ohio in there also they beat them pretty badly.Mason has looked great so far,Will be a very big team this year.

Also Huntington, OH too.

PRP Summer Slam

Covington Catholic beat Madison Central (over 20), a shorthanded South Laurel (over 20), Bryan Station (around 10), and Louisville Doss (around 10).

Kurt Bovard did not play any of the games (football commitments), and Todd Jacobs had to leave after the South Laurel game due to an eye injury.

The Colonels had great play from all 11 players and should provide an excellent supporting cast for those two superstars. They may just be the deepest team in the state (of course it is very very early).

PRP Summer Slam

A few notes about the superstars-

Jeremy Anderson of Warren Central had a few rough stretches, but I have seen him light him up. Also, who was WC's point guard, #5? He impressed me.

I had never seen Ty Proffit before, but IMO he dribbled too much. I know that SL had two 6"6's missing, but him and Jordan Hammonds seemed to force up way too many shots.

Holmes had all underclassmen players back from last year, including Rice and Edmonson. And as has fballstud said, the younger players look good.

That is somewhat news to me... I knew that there was question to whether he would be back or not but did not know that it was to the point in which he is playing for their summer team...

Dayton and Silver Grove played Saturday morning... there were only a few people there watching... Silver Grove is doing a great job getting guys playing. I am not trying to be rude but they brought more guys on their basketball team than I thought they would have 9-12 (seemed like around 30)... they cleared the board after each quarter but I beleive that total the Grovers ended up winning by between 7 to 10 points. I also know that Dayton was missing one player to the state track meet, one to some college football camp, and one to work.

For those wondering, Corey Pelle, while not scoring as much as one might think, still had a solid game. From what I saw it looked like Dayton was doing a good job of forcing the ball out of his hands, but then the dished out some nice dimes to the uncovered man. I would say he probably ended up with about 15 points and 12 assists in about 3 1/2 quarters....
