I think Holy Cross should be somewhere from 8-10 on this list

The Desales/Mayfield argument is tough one. I would favor Mayfield based on a OT loss by less pts. but that's just my opinion. Danville should be #3 . Their only loss coming to the #1 team in Class 3A who many have as a favorite to win it all (Boyle Co.). Serious contender in the East

Offense needs a lot of work because the two best wide receivers have to play defense. As far as big plays, hard to win if you can't score on four tries from the one yard line. Nice move switching corners right before half time. Lol

Hear ya Bigshow,,,,,I have faith in the coaching staff and I know the kids are going to respond well. Good teams learn more from their losses then from their wins. Just look at the last two seasons after losing to CAL, you can see how much better we got after those defeats. Can't wait to see the team play this Friday @ North Hardin. I'm sure I will see you there

My only points on who should be #1 goes like this.

 

Mayfield loses in overtime to a good 6A team and they drop as they should.

 

DeSales loses to a good 5A team and gets shut out and retains the #1 postion.

 

If that's the case DeSales should have been #1 all along on BGP's. I don't know why the script as been flipped but....

I would argue that in theory MF should be #1 but after a closer than usual win over a low top #10 3A team in Corbin I could also argue that DS should be #1. MF has the best loss to McCracken Co. DeSales best win is over Ballard while MF's best win is over PT. PT and Ballard are identical meaning neither win is better than the others using LIT Ratings with both at 102. DS has played just 1 team with a winning record in Fern Creek and lost. MF has played just 1 team with a winning record in McCracken Co and lost in OT. DS has played just 1 team with a even record in 3-3 Ballard who DS beat. MF has played 3 teams with even records and beat all 3, Corbin, Graves Co and PT. DS has played 3 teams that have losing records and beat all three. MF has played 2 teams with a losing record and beat both. MF has played 2 teams with Lit Ratings over 100, beating PT and losing in OT to McCracken Co. DS has also played 2 teams with Lit's over 100 beating Ballard and losing to Fern Creek. The average Lit for DS opponents that they have played so far is 90.10 and DS has a Lit Rating of 112.4. The average Lit for MF opponents that they have played so far is 86.15 and MF has a Lit Rating of 109.1.

 

Both are ranked #1 in various polls

 

So what I take from this is that it is pretty much a deadlock depending upon what color glasses one wears. If this were a election it would drive the pollsters crazy as they would have to say its to close to call. For what it's worth I got MF at #1 :lol2:

 

Are we all overlooking CAL, Danville, OC Murray, and NCC in our infatuation with the 2 big name teams? For DS, the CAL game will tell us next week and for MF the game with Murray will do the same.

 

CAL has a Lit of 108.7 and their opponents avg LIT is 96.30. Their best win is over N Oldham who has a Lit of 93.3.
