doubledeuce
That is because of the silly way KHSAA set up the districts. Should have 1 NKY district of 6 teams. That district would be a blast year in and year out with only 4 getting to the playoffs. Silly 3 team districts are such a waste. Even if they had a six team district they all would get in. I think it is awesome this way because the two districts meet each other in the first round.
Old-School-Football
A lot of football to be played !!!! A couple of games that could really rearrange the brackets: Male at St. X Just when 100 % of folks believe it cant happen, watch out!!!! Although the St. X - Trinity game really has no influence on playoffs, it is a good barameter of where each team is at... A St. X win over Male would put Male and Trinity as second round opponents!!!!! Dont count your chickens just yet!!!!! The biggest impact on the bracket will be the Manual vs X game. Sure, X can beat Male or any other team in the state on any night of the week but don't rule out a big win for Manual over X. The winner of that game will most likely get the Rocks in the 2nd round (at T) and the team that doesn't win will get Male in 2nd round (at Male). But, it might not even be worth a discussion. X has a 700 game win streak against Manual...right? Lot of good football to play. Will be fun to see how things unfold.

I think it is awesome this way because the two districts meet each other in the first round. And avoid having to play anyone worth a lick. Convenient. NKY Bandit
In a six team district, bottom two would travel to WKY to play first round games?

psychicscubadiver
We know you are great and everyone should be on bended knee..... Most years four of the top five in 6A are Louisville schools. Just the facts.
All Tell
We know you are great and everyone should be on bended knee..... And we know NKY 6A schools have never fared well against them so it's convenient for them that the current set-up prevents them from playing before the championship game and that at least 2 of the AD/head coaches there have petitioned that it become permanant. Like I said you are great.....and why wouldn't 6a follow the same set up as the other classes? So, what if they are scared, intimidated, and running away from having to play them until the finals? You are complaining about matching up with the other district in the first round, what is the difference?

So, what if they are scared, intimidated, and running away from having to play them until the finals? You are complaining about matching up with the other district in the first round, what is the difference? You'd have to ask the same set of coaches that now using this set up. They were the ones that pushed for the rotating system so the same district wouldn't have to face the Louisville schools in the first round every year. How many different scenarios can they come up with?
All Tell
Can you add to this bracket prediction, who would be playing at home? Higher seeds are home in round 1 and 2. If 2 same seeds meet for regional odd numbered region is home, if they are different seeds, higher seed is home. I'm not sure who holds home field in semi states. Seeding has nothing to do with home field for semis.
