I'm not sure about Head Coach, but I remember Max Montoya (Bengals Pro Bowl Guard) saying: "if he (Mike Yeagle) was on the Bengals Coaching staff, I would have at least 3 Superbowl rings." He was speaking more about Mike's ability to motivate every player.

 

Not sure that equates to a logical progression to NFL Head coach, but wanted to share.

Faust didn't have all his people with him, he wasn't allowed to recruit at the level Holtz did after him, and he still was decent.

 

I do remember him saying he had more assistants at Moeller than what he had at Notre Dame.

Bigger recruiting budget when he was at Moeller too!

Here's what I mean Guru. Last season with a combination of a great early schedule, our own injuries and putting in a new system you bashed the LexCath Knights when they started out 1-3. The rankings were always heavily favored for the Boyle County team who beat on teams with no heartbeats. There was negative remarks about how soft our team was and that the defense stunk. Then in the same breath you would praise Boyle County and how tough they were up front and that their defense was stingy. Then in the first game to LexCath it was LC dominating in the rushing department. Then in the next game it's more another 200 yards on the ground. You are talking over 400 yards rushing on Chuck Smith and company. No comments on being soft. No comments on them being whipped up front, instead it's extremely one sided. Now if we are going to say give Smith time and be patient why can't you say the same about a loss by LC and Perry? We always face a tougher schedule so you can't debate that they will typically have a better regular season record the LC, but you have to honestly post more neutral comments man. I don't mind posting but I love to support the post with some facts and honesty. The people of BGP, deserve that Sir.....

 

I still agree with guru's assessment of Lexcath's team after 4 weeks last season. Your defense was soft and gave up a ton of yards and points to Highlands in the playoff game. What he said about your team after 4 weeks came to fruition in the playoffs when you finally had to play a good team. Good observation Guru.
