September 13, 201511 yr Not so sure about this one. "Billy don't be a Hero," was recorded, released as a single and cracked the AT40 by a group called Paper Lace. Paper Lace also had a hit in "The Night Chicago Died,". Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods made it a hit. I have no idea if Paper Lace recorded it, but they didn't make it a hit.

September 14, 201511 yr ^^^ Freaky thing about the "Clair" song is that it's about his affection towards a very young under aged girl... listen closely to the lyrics all the way to the end where a young girl is giggling. This song came out when I was 8 and I didn't get it or even know if there was much fuss made about it then, but if it were to come out today I think he'd probably be hung for suggesting what he's suggesting in this song. September 14, 201511 yr Pardon me if this has already been mentioned, but there was an instrumental in the late 60s or early 70s, as I remember, by Mason Williams called "Classical Gas." I think it was voted song of the year by the main rock station in Louisville at the time WAKY......don't think Mason had any more hits.

I still have OMD, Rockwell, and Soft Cell as all-time one hit wonder favs though.
