Colerain 2 for 4 for 18 yards last week. No matter.... we'll just rush for 363 yards and score 27 on a good Indiana team.

Won't be at the game but will be interested to see the score & hopefully get a detailed report on BGP.

I'm around. Always checking in on my good BGP friends. No real crossover games for the Cardinals this year so my posting is just down.

 

Certainly didn't expect to see this thread on this board. I, obviously, will be there. My heart says Cardinals by my head says Bombers. We are going to have to step up the offense AND defense to have a shot in this one. Good news is that it's our home opener and that should give us an advantage.

 

A win over St. Xavier, combined with the win over Warren Central (IN) would be a GREAT start to the year.

There are going to be A LOT of schools interested in Amir once it's all said and done. Had 2 picks this past weekend and should lead the conference in Picks.

Yes you can win a lot of games when you have some of the best athletes in the country on your team. But even with that talent, you can't win championships. BTW, I'm a big fan of Colerain (wife's alma mater).

You absolutely can win championships. High school isn't the NFL. If you can execute your offense better than your opponent executes their defense, you can certainly win championships.

You also have to have a very solid defense so your not playing from behind when you rely solely on the run. Your Cards usually have that.

LOL! This is football no matter what offense you run but you are kidding yourself if you think a 1970's style offense gives you the best chance these days to win State Championships.

Funny, b/c I watched De La Salle from California on TV last week. They did pretty well last year in California running the triple-option as well. At least Colerain runs theirs out of the I. The triple option isn't the problem. It is that Bolden is soooo risk adverse when it comes to the passing game. He's never even tried to develop some sort of screen package w/ all of the speed that he has. Get your athletes in space. You can do that out of the I still.

I always thought that it was strange that Tom Bolden did not try to develop a passing attack for the Cardinals because when Tom Bolden was the QB for Colerain, he set all or most of the passing records for Colerain and still holds them. He also had (or maybe still has) Steve Schweitzer as his QB coach. Steve was Tom's HS QB coach, so the knowledge is there, but the offence philosophy of Kerry's Coombs's OC, Rick Haynes, still predominates the Cards Offence.
