BIrds are developing and SC and Pulaski haven't played anyone great to say they are sooooooo good. Im trying to say Cooper is better than Pulaski but that is not allowed since they are both all JR teams from last year that Cooper lost to. I guess Hellbird thinks Borches is not much of a coach if that is the case. So I guess it is all figured out Hellbird traveled to the future and SC beats Highlands this. we don't need to play games we have Hellbird.

I have learned over the years to never count Highlands out. I picked S. C. In this one. But come Dec I'm betting Highlands will be playing in Bowling Green.

First I have to point out a couple facts. You and JOAT are the ones who brought Cooper into this before I even mentioned them. Go back through the posts, I will show you....

 

You see the biggest difference between us is this. I can be very objective and unbiased. Just because I think Pulaski is better than Cooper means I think Borchers isn't a good coach? Way to not only belittle Cooper's coach but way to put words in my mouth. I speak of facts while you speak of who knows what. Believe it or not if highlands isn't as good as you claim they are it's still not the end of the world. Get over it already and move on to the game, not the fact that MOST people have picked SC over HHS in this game. The sky isn't falling....I promise. Acting as arrogant as you have is not a good look.

You think they are a top team based upon what happened to Cooper last year? Have you seen them this year or for that matter did you see the game last night? Pulaski won state yeah. But they played a bunch of second tier squads to get it.... No offense but Cooper was a team of juniors.

I didn't say HHS was bad did I? I said Cooper and Pulaski were better. Cooper already proved that, Pulaski we won't know for fact unless

You are correct, that was last year. Both teams returned about all

their starters which would mean what? They are probably EVEN BETTER NOW. Duh! You're a big man talking about lifting trophies woo-hoo! glad to see that arrogance hasn't let up any with you. How many of those trophies were 5A or 6A?

Wow Hellbird. First off, highlands was in 5A from 2007-2010. They won every 5A title every year they were in 5A. As someone who attended most of the playoff games the last 8 years, I can say unequivocally that 4A was the much tougher class. Granted Highlands talent was at a very high level during those years.

 

Last week Cooper was better than Highlands. They were more experienced and understood what it took defensively to win last week. Highlands went home, reviewed the tape, made some changes, practiced, and came back with a better approach this week.

 

 

Now back to the Cooper-Highlands game. It was 23-13 late 4th qtr. i watched the tape multiple times. If Highlands doesn't go for it on 4th and forever from their own 15 giving Cooper a short field, what does the score end up? Highlands had to go for it, otherwise they're conceding the game with 3-4 minutes left. If they punt, Cooper burns up the time and we get a 23-13 final. My guess is Coach Borchers knows he didn't destroy Highlands and the final number wasn't indicative of it being a close game. A few plays could've changed the outcome.

 

Does Cooper beat Highlands again if they had to play later this year? We'll never know because they don't play. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Its unfortunate Cooper petitioned up. Was it possibly to avoid the scenario of having to beat Highlands or Covcath a second time. Sorry if you disagree, but its a fact that the road to a 6A finals berth is much easier the years when Trinity is on the other side, than it is having to beat Covcath then Highlands every year just to advance to the semis.

 

Act like you've been there even though you haven't and may never get there. There's no need to act like a certain fan who's turned almost everyone against his team. Your coaches and players don't deserve that. I for one will be rooting for Cooper or whoever represents N. Ky. to win the 6A title.

Just to be fair; I am on the outside of Highlands' program so what I say comes from knowing their tradition, etc. JOAT knows more about the program than I could ever begin to comprehend. When he talks about the program, I listen.

I stand by what I said and if you get upset about, oh well. I'd love to be friends but I can't respect someone who contiues to lie to try and spin it his way.

I was only defending the team that came under fire from Highlands fans. you would do the same. When someone makes a post that says "Coopers biggest accomplishment is beating a down HHS team. Blam hows that feel. We'll see how Cooper FINISHES and how HHS FINISHES. Im building Cooper a trophy for their win against Highlands right now. That is the difference between their trophy cases"

SC's D line is very talented. Should be a stern task for the Birds' O Line.

 

Establishing the LOS will be very important in this one. I'd look for Hergott to roll out a bit more to give him more time to throw.

Fair enough. With Cooper being the new school in the area and building a strong football program, I find them a welcome addition. I'm glad they were able to work out a game deal. One loss to a team isn't going to make Highlands fans not like them. I hope the series continues. The worst post probably came from Fear the Nation whose team beat a typically weak Lexcath team and a winless Covcath team that came out in week 2 in their ridiculous white pants waving the white flag from the opening kickoff.

Show me a post that said that. I said the carousel keeps them out too long. Never said yards or carries. We're winning who cares. I picked against you. You mad at the other 40 people. All I said was 42-14 Scott county. I stand behind that. I never said a word but you want to start up with me again. I don't care about your tradition, feelings or any of that. Show me now. In reality that defense may give up 50. You don't win just because HHS is on the uniform. Is this the first senior class that has no tuition students in or behind it? Now that your district is closed you will have to deal with talent cycles of a smaller district like everyone else. Most of NKY feels HHS is soft and they suffer from the dilusions of entitlement. Everyone else has been working hard. Dales gone, no tuition students, your run is gone. I'll say it now, you will not win 5a this year. You will not anytime soon. Most of the kids I seen are under talented and undersized. You have a down class. Deal with it and get off the high horse it has broken legs. That ego you spoke about is definately part of the entitlement problem.

 

Highlands has won many a games without Dale or tuition students and will win many more. But where did the misconception start that Highlands doesn't take tuition students? Is that the new story schools like Ryle tell their kids who want to leave to go to an academically and football superior school? My understanding is that there's limited tuition spots open in each grade every year. I do know of a few in every grade including some on the freshmen and varsity football teams. Jealousy will eat you up inside nation.

I can't wait to watch the game against Ryle. What happens if this "down" class beats Ryle AGAIN. They'll probably want to run their coach off again too. 20+ years of football futility in Union has to be frustrating.
