We live in a world where bigotry/intolerance/prejudice towards one group or view is acceptable, others not. And that is not necessarily always a bad thing. For instance, I don't think 99.9% of the population would have a problem that I am intolerant of the views of the North American Man Boy Love Association. Where things get testy is who makes the call as to what is acceptable to be intolerant of and what is not acceptable.

You gave a pretty good definition. But, many folks are labled Bigots for much less, like by simply refusing to accept someones opinion.

 

Some peoples opinions are so asinine they are beyond acceptance. If that makes me a bigot so be it I guess.

 

I respect the right for people to have different opinions, but I don't have to respect every different opinion itself.

Pretty simple to me....anyone who thinks another person should be denied equal rights or treated differently solely based on their race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation is a bigot in my book.

Prejudice is not the same thing as Bigotry. Just because I pre-judge someone to be an idiot, that doesn't make me a Bigot.
