They knew him. And they were in the middle of a live shoot. You are trained to stay focused on the job despite what is around you. He is sick!!!!

They were focused on the story and not paying attention. I've never seen anything like it. The reporter had no chance. It appears he shot her 3 times.

Shooter walked upto them from the side. Camerman had his back to him. Reporter was looking at the lady being interviewed. He stood there for 10 seconds or so with his gun out.

She was focused on the interview. Live Remotes are a lot different than setting up an interview shoot. The focus is to the max for everyone. Reporter, cameraman and the interviewee who wants their story out there and done well.
