August 28, 201511 yr I just find it disconcerting that the very people who claimed for so long to be fighting the old guard practices of disallowing others with certain and particular viewpoints (Gay Rights, Civil Rights, Immigration Reform, etc.) now seems to believe that they have the moral authority to do the exact same thing to those with whom they disagree!! The pure hypocrisy of their position is so plain to me and so incredibly obvious I cannot accept them as serious people.
August 29, 201511 yr Intolerance of a private, family-owned company that funds intolerance is not hypocrisy. :stop: :isurrender: :ohbrother:  :banghead:
September 2, 201511 yr ^ I'm sure after it's said and done, after the city decides, they may very well have a location in the Denver airport. But as rjs4470 pointed out, they haven't said no at this point. I'm sure the company will survive if they do not have a location at the airport, the last time I checked they are a pretty healthy company. It happened..............Chick-fil-A at DIA: After firestorm, council panel OKs lease
September 3, 201511 yr There! So all of this uproar for nothing. Personally, I don't care which restaurants are at airports, just as long as there are a good number of good places to eat (I've very flexible on the word "good"), then I'm happy.

I have not been following the story closely at all so I don't know...just asking...could the "uproar" be a big reason for the decision? It may have not been for nothing...
September 3, 201511 yr Sounds like maybe they actually got around to researching how the company operates.

It maybe was. The city council represents their constituents. If their phones and emails got blown up by people wanting the Chick-fil-A, then the system worked as it should. Again, though, from the beginning, the council never said Chick fil A would never be opened at the airport. Just that they were going to do their due diligence to make sure it was a good fit for the community. No different than the owner of any shopping center vetting any potential tenant to make sure they are a good fit.
