And before anyone brings it up the Panthers incident yesterday is completely different as that was Newton going out of his way and going after the other guy first. And even in that situation, had Newton been hurt you can bet that DB would be looking for work today.

Teammates have to know they can't punch the starting QB even if he sucks as bad as Geno does. Can't do it. What if it was Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck? Can't do it. Can't punch the QB in the locker room. Ever.

Yea putting your finger in a big mean NFL linebackers face is always a smart thing to do. I am sure the linebacker felt disrespected and took care of business. My question is where was the O-lineman to protect the QB?

No one said it was smart. It doesn't warrant physical violence though.

Sounds like Smith is not to bright of a qb.

Sounds like Smith is not to bright of a qb. Good for you. Not sure what something 25-30 years ago has to do with this. I'd be willing to bet no team in the league has their linemen "protecting" their QB in their own locker room. That's just dumb.
