August 27, 201511 yr In the past, has it always been on Sundays? Saturday would be more convenient. Hop on the motorcycle and ride through that beautiful area. Enjoy the dinner, stay the night and head back Sunday afternoon. I may still end up going though.

August 27, 201511 yr Never had elk myself...taste? Is it like a really lean roast beef? More like deer? I had an elk steak in Idaho last summer. It was fantastic! not gamey at all and similar to beef steak. Closer to bison.

I love the roast, though. In comparison to beef, it is leaner (which makes it less juicy) and a little sweeter. Good stuff.
